    Since you call it this:
    2009 LX & Beyond Nationals

I would think it should be LX only...

Those others that you have mentioned have there own Weekend events as well and there are no LX's invited to those...

    Just my 2 cents...

Chuck & I met this weekend and we have started our negotiations to secure a Drag Strip in Ohio for the 2009 LX & BEYOND NATIONALS. We can tell you this about the track, it has grass pit area, 14 staging lanes inside the guardrails and 2 more lanes outside the guardrails. There is a playground inside a fenced in area for young children, toilets that flush and best of all we can get the track for WAY LESS than last year.

The track owner sells Race Gas there as well. They carry all kinds of VP Fuel such as 110,
C12, C14, C15, C16 (117 Octane), they also have M1 Methanol. I can not give you pricing as it will be sure to change by the end of June 2009.

Here is what Chuck and I have discussed so far; we want to make it a 2-day Event.
We will have Registration on Friday at the Hotel Headquarters.
There are 3 Hotels right next to each other
(two of them share a parking lot and the 3rd is across a small street.
Saturday we will have Time Trials & Qualifying for the Quick 16 at the Track.
We will have 4 Classes of Bracket Racing and 2 Classes of Heads Up Racing.
The Racing will be at a 1/4 mile track.
Sunday will be the Eliminations, the Car Show and the Award Presentation.

ALL VENDORS THAT SUPPORTED US LAST YEAR WILL GET IN FOR FREE. This will include a 30 x 30 space, 1 vehicle pass and 2 weekend credentials. If you need more space, more people, or more than one vehicle there will be an additional fee.

We are also going to IMPLEMENT A PARTICIPANT CERTIFICATION CARD. All Participants both from the Drag Race and the Car Show must go see at least 4 different vendors with their card and have that card stamped by that vendor. They must do this to receive any prizes that they may win either in the race or the show.

New Vendors will have to pay a Vendor Fee to get into the Event

SO STAY TUNED FOR MORE INFORMATION !!!!!!!

    ~Anthony

    I hear what you are saying . . .

We invited a few non-LX (Mopar) vehicles out to the 2008 LX Nats to race and everyone seemed to enjoy the additional competition.

Just throwing the idea out there again! :shifty:

They are invited. There is a Quick 16 "heads up" class and also a bracket class that they can race in. These guys work hard to put on a nice event. They took a little grief for not inviting enough different vehicles last year so it looks like they have taken care of that issue. Hopefully you can make it.

Yes, they were the headline sponsor last year, we also had around 40 other sponsors the first year. It's an event that you don't want to miss in 2009.

    HUGE thank you (again) !!!

    HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!

I've said it before and I will say it again, I don't know where he gets his inspiration from but everytime I see his work I'm amazed at his keen eye for details. Once again we asked the one and only Hazman to exercise his talent on the event banner for this year.

So naturally my thought was when you put two #1's together its destined to be a knockout. The "Godfather of the Photoshop" - Hazman put his crayons to work on the 2008 Best of Show Charger owned by KRYPTONITE. Now I am very pleased to have the honor of unveiling the banner for the 2009 LX & BEYOND NATIONALS!!!

***Anybody that would like to add the banner to their signature to help get the word out you can either "right-click" the image and do a copy-paste, or hit the "QUOTE" tab underneath this post so you can see the computer language ([IMG]) and copy it to your signature. Any problems, send me a PM. Thank you everyone for your support!!!

    Challenging all the forums/clubs/regions.

Well, the NORTHEAST dominated the event in 2008 and are already talking about a repeat for 2009.

In 2009, we are challenging everybody else to match their competition level and participation!!!

I'm ashamed to say that the Midwest was outnumbered last time and the 2008 LX NATS was held right in their backyard. Hopefully, the Best Club/Team/Forum Participation Challenge will get a little more competition going.

Don't matter if you are in the carshow or racing on the track JUST BRING IT! :viking:

Challenge to all the drag race competitors!

Anybody that will be racing for footballs we want to make sure that the track announcer knows and also the video crew so that they can get the competition on video, please let us know in advance.

Also, anybody have any "grudge-matches" that they would like to setup please let me know. It could be forum member vs. forum member, forum member vs. vendor, or vendor vs. vendor.

Last year PPP tried to get one going with another company but they could not make the trip from California. Let's see what we can do about getting some of these going for 2009.

6 months for competitors to prep their rides and even get some Early Spring tuning and runs in at the other track events prior to the 09 LX NATS. (Also 6 months to do some trash talkin' :harhar::argue:) Just don't break your rides, please!!!

We had a lot of people last year that broke weeks and some only a few days before the 08 LX NATS.

I do want to emphasize that we want to please keep the "grudge-match" and "football" competition friendly.

Be a good sportsman, bring your "A" game and run what you brung.
    :boxing::boxing:

Spread the word......we will start a list 2 months prior so that gives everyone about 4 months to PM, e-mail, call and challenge whomever. In addition, if you all want to see 2 vendor rides go head-to-head, you need to contact them and we will coordinate. I know there are some massive builds going on out there, so instead of you having to go to them why not have them come to you?

    Let the games begin!!! :sly:
