Lets put it this way. We are already in December. A lot of work would be needed to be done just to get a calendar for 2009. From organization to finally picking, voting, etc. To then submitting for the calendars to be made, edit proof where needed, then finally getting them made once its finalized, then selling them. There's more involved then members just attaching photos in a thread. By the time everything is gathered and done we'll be already in 2009. Being a holiday month as well cuts into how much time there is to even set or organize something like this. To clarify to those a bit confused. Our monthly contests has nothing to do with this photo contest calendar. It was an idea of mine to incorporate the monthly photo contest winners into the calendar. It was just an idea.
The claander won't be till 2010 but we have to start now. I have done many of these and they are easy if you start early. Like anything professional you have to take your time and make it quality.
Would it be a calendar with car shots only ? Or would a Model with the car in the pic be allowed ??? Car is in paint right now and I do have a few models that would love to model for the calendar.
I agree but it has to be a legit pic no photo chopped pix? What if we did an 18 month calendar? The second half of 2009 and all of 2010? this way we could get more cars in, and have a good 6 months to get it made with out trying to rush it for 2009 (which I doubt could even happen) but not have to wait for 2010?
I agree legit ones..... Thats a good idea unless we couldnt get enough cars but I really think we could
Awesome. Just let me know who and where to send the proofs to. I have the photographer and models all lined up and waiting once my car is out in about 2 weeks.
It is alot of work to roll one out. ALOT, plus the staff is ubber busy, vendor spot light is a lil late because of how much we have on our plate. I am all for a calander, I love it, I want one. But there is just so much, it would be nice if someone could take control of it and push and get orders for all that are needed before we roll out (kinda like the group buys, orders and confirms first and then we roll out when we make quota, if we don't everyone gets refunded, ya know)
the guys need to talk about how to do it, if it is even possible. we will report back on our findings
Chris, check your PM. Also, I think the best way to handle this is to set up a 5 person committee? Let these members handle the leg work and get final approval from Management. This can work, but it will take dedication and work to get participation and actual customers. Chris, I also think if we put together a committee, a seperate forum for the committee and management viewing only will be required?
