I think we should have a clander photo contest or something. People can take some photos of there cars and then we could put them in a clander and do something with it. This would be an exciting thing to do and it will be fun. So what are your thoughts on this?
I agree Joe. We had a poll on this subject a few months ago, but not much response. The cost for us to do a "Quality" calendar was more than those who voted to support the cost... We are cooking something up for the 2009 season though.
Ron how much is a "quality" one? If we sell 10? 50? 100? What does it take to make it a reasonable price?
Just an idea. Our monthly photo contests winners for each month could be the ones in the calendar. Problem is something like that wouldn't work for say 2009. We would need to go through december 2008-november 2009 and have the calendar for 2010. We have monthly photo contests now only problem is their wasn't much participation on December's. January contest will be coming soon. Participation is key so it all works out. The calendar is a great idea, its at the hands of members and their participation and interest.
I wouldnt have an issue with that other then a few items if you will 1) if you do them by "contests", you probably arent going to get "calendar" quality pics...ie last months winner he just kinda had that pic 2) if we keep doing the contests....we wont be able to include everyone...IE...i didnt submit a pic cause of a ton of reasons for the burnout one.... 3) if we keep doing contests....theres no one to say we wont have only 3 or 4 of the lineup Represented....what would be pretty cool to me is if we could get some pics for different months with a FEW SRT's in each pic....just an idea though and those are my thoughts.....thank you for your time :future: yeah that was it
Well that may work but it would take too long. We need something that will take a short time. So that it can be printed sooner than later. Dude where have you been you somitted a photo for it lol
It takes time to setup and coordinate a photo contest as we involve everyone here. That goes from staff to members to vendors. There's preparation process before a thread is even made. Here's the thing. There are members that want a certain month to be in. Not all photos submitted will be of high quality. Still goes back to participation. If only 8ppl participate and only 8 photos that's only 8 months. Then it goes down to cost and how many will buy the calendars. Yes its a great idea but a lot of support needs to be there as well as participation. I personally would love to have an SRTC calendar. A mix of lineups is the best way to do it I agree but majority on here at this time are mostly srt8 owners, so its gathering equally participation from all lineups.
Could we also have a strip across the bottom of the days with 4 or 5 vender's? they could buy a space that would get there logo with web page/ phone number on the bottom of every month? It may not make them a lot of money but it is worth a try? they don't have to be expensive but if we could get each vendor to knock the price down 1 droller on each calender thats $5 savings?
This is the way it needs to work you can't choose the month you want it will be up the people judging the contest. The months will be decided by way of random drawing. Participation will happen if we make it fun. I have done a lot of these and eople will come. Mixed line ups will be acceptable for those who want to do that, but I feel that there will be enough. If you don't have a good camera get with some one who does and that solves that. That is a good idea and that could help subsidise the cos tof the calander.
