What`s up guy`s and gal`s....i bought a polished BT Catch can and the braided lines and it aint installing like it`s supposed too. The catch can is no problem to install , but the line that goes from the PCV valve is a real bitch to get it in right. The only way i can get it on is to krimp the braided line and it should not be that way. Is it possible you sent me a 5.7 kit instead of the 6.1, cus i have way too much lenght on the one line. The line that runs from the top of the Manifold to the catch can is just about right. Any help would be much appreciated.
I have the same issue. My braided line kit for the catch can is sitting on my desk and the one for my CAI did not work because the RDP CAI has a -8AN threaded fitting (neither JEGS or Summit had an adapter that would make it work). How do you attach the 90* connector to the PCV? The PCV is not threaded and is only made of plastic. Any help or pics would be appreciated as I would like to install these braided lines.
Most people who want a 90* use a plastic "L" connector and a small piece of black rubber hose to make the connection. I'll look into these parts for you guys and get back with you (and post here) as soon as they are available. It might be the beginning of next week since we're closed over Thanksgiving, but I'll get this done for you.
Let us know if you find something Ron. I'm in no hurry but if you track something down that would be great. Have a happy Thanksgiving!
Thanx BMC ( Lisa ) and Ron for looking in to this for us and to lisa...i`m in no big hurry, so next week is just fine. Ron your always very helpful and i really appreciate it. Let us know what you find tomorrow at the speed shop.Almost forgot...Happy Thanksgiving!
yep Id like to say my catch can lines dont work either, I tried to buy a rubber elbow! 17.00, I already bought the kit? The 6.1 pcv nipple needs a 90 off that and then a length of hose, this is the proper way, I havnt been able to deal with mine and I need it bad, Im gonna just got buy the elbow, what goods a kit if its not the whole kit? The PCV nipple is plastic, last thing I want to do is snap it off, the dealer doesnt stock these, the cars dead if this happens. C'mon, Dont make me start making these to!!
It's a very easy add-on with just a couple little parts, so I'll have this together soon. The way we sent them, it does work ... we have been running it on our SRT8 since before we even started selling these and it's perfect. I know a couple of guys have had trouble getting the hose on the PCV and that is why we are going to have a 90* option, but we're talking about 2-3% of the cases that have been even the slightest issue. BUT, to make it easier, we are going to do something with the 90* so stay tuned. Hey Trojan, I thought you said you weren't using the catch can braided line kit I sent you before SEMA (sponsorship)??
They will fit on the car without the elbow, but some have chosen to go that route...here are the hoses on my SRT8...5000 miles on them w/ no issues They actually kink less than the BT Rubber hoses did IMO. Either way Lisa will get you worked out!
I am surprised yours isn't leaking air Kris? Mine fit just a little worse than yours and gave me one hell of a vacuum leak. haha I will have a 90* AN part number for you guys tomorrow. I hope. hehe
I know you guy`s will take care of it...it`s really no biggy to me, i`m just like a little kid with a new toy and i want it on. As far as the top pic goes....i have seen this route on a couple of chargers and it seems to work just fine. I tried to run mine that way and i was afriad i would snap the PCV valve like Trojan said.
Whats that mean? Im doing it myself, Im just not fond of the tension this is pulling on the plastic nipple, A elbow is the way to go IMHO. Make something above and beyond. A for sure piece. Ive snapped a fitting before. :crying:
I have mine installed like Kirs and it is just fine....it was a little bit of a bitch to get on hahahaha....but when it did i have had no issues
It means I installed it on his car, as the prototype piece, and I was being funny as if someone really special had installed it. For the first 75 kits, no one had an issue. Recently there have been a handful of people having a hard time getting the hose on the PCV so if you notice this kit is no longer even in our store as we're working on a better set-up for that fitting. So, we made something "above and beyond" by coming out with this to start with and like any good company, we are taking into consideration the feedback we've received in order to improve upon a good thing to make it even better. Thank you to everyone for being patient as we find the best way to enhance this kit for you. BTW, TROJAN, so are you using the kit I sent you for SEMA? If so, we should talk about that, right?
No Im not, The fuel line kit came with the wrong fittings and the hoses are both to long and need to be shortened, And the catch can lines are really the "Ones" I dont want to use with the hose clamps fittings and the bend were talking about here, I sent you a pm at LX several days ago regarding the bulkhead fittings you supplied with the fuel kit.
Lisa, Its all good, Ive got a custom piece being made so the PCV valve actually gets a elbow first hen threads to "AN" line and then threads to Catch can via "AN" fitting. So all of the catch can hose will screw on and have no tension on the plastic cheesy PCV nipple. Now about the fuel line kit you sell, heres the story. THere are 2 types of fittings that can screw into the fuel rail ends. The ones you sell which are called "BulkHead" fittings. Yours are tappered couplers and are the same on both sides. yours are tappered at the ends. This is the "WRONG" fitting guys. The proper fitting would not have a tappered end where it screws into the fuel rail. The problem is this, the tappered end actually covers 25" of the first injector hole, Im not a fan of this, I want to know when I sleep at night that my injectors are all getting the same amount of fuel. You need to get the non tappered fitting for the 4 fuel rail ends, the other ind of this fitting can be tappered, just not the end that goes into the fuel rails. I had to buy those 4 ends at 13.00 each to replace the ones in your kit. ALso there were no "O" rings in my kit. herers what you sell basically. Heres the proper fitting. Notice the 1 end is not tappered, this is the end that goes into the fuel rail. You guys should switch up, BTW Im using CPR or CRP rails.
