I believe elcobra44/Matt has one... Let me see if I can find it.

    EDIT - Here it is.

SRT Max cam on a 112+4, Big Valve Performance Heads.

Exhaust is a set of Flowmaster 40's in the middle, 18"x3.5" tips in the rear (no resos) and Mopar Headers and Cats. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RxtsgLrQay4&eurl

OMG...all I know is I want one in my jeep...BADDD:worthy: That cam sounds so nasty. How intense is it to get the idle right? I assume it takes a custom CMR tune?

You'll need a complete tune with both. But it's worth it.

Here is a dyno for the spartan that was not tuned worth a darn yet. It's a long story, but you'll get the idea.

Damn, that's a good question there Nathan, thanks the F a lot for asking it :(

The max hell, unreal cam up top above 4600. There isn't a cammed 6.1 car I riden in that can keep up with it the last 2K rpm. But it lacked the low end I wanted. If I were only going to run high speed road course, I would have stuck with that cam.

But, I wanted more bottom end than that. Matter of fact in the first vid, you can literally hear the motor come on the cam in second gear at launch if you listen good.

After the running the comp 268 and seeing where it fell flat (up top) and then experiancing a cam designed to run all the way up top I decided for the middle road. Which was the spartan.

I gained back my bottom end I had with the 268 and with all I've done to everything to breath at it's best, I can really take advantage of the amount lf lift the spartan has. Yes the max hell has more duration and lift, but I don't need it.

The ride I have now is a perfect combination of a fun daily driver when using the throttle lightly. Idles like a dream, doesn't stall (BTW, niether did the maxhell), and is a Fn beast when you put your foot into it. I'm digging the spartan, it won't be getting changed unless I go FI.

    Nice report Cam.
    That is what I thought....
I think the low end-mid range power cams are best for our part time daily drivers. Plus the fact that the LX is so heavy that the low end power gets it going better.....just something to worry about if you aren't running better half shafts.
I like to feel a cam turn on torque around 2500 rpm....not 4500.

I have a the SRT MaxHell on a 115 LSA. It allows the cam to be installed straight up and brings the power band down to 2500-6500. It runs like a champ and is working well with my blower too. Here is the vid you requested:

What are the specs on the SRT Max Hell. What is the difference between it and the SRT Max 112+4 in that video? The jeeps have plenty of low end with the 3.73 gears but 70+mph and 4500+rpm it needs some help. Wouldn't the max hell be a good fit for a jeep?

The difference between my cam and the 112+4 cam is only in the lobe separation angle and advance of the cam. Both have 218/222 duration and 0.566/0.578" lift. The 5.7L has much more piston to valve clearance because of their lower compression so they can advance a 218 intake/112 LSA cam a few degrees. In the 6.1, you have to retard a 218 intake lobe/112 LSA cam by about 3 degrees to ensure safe valve to piston clearance. That's one of the reasons I went with the 115 LSA, it allows the cam to be installed straight up instead of retarded. The 115 LSA also limits the overlap compared to the 112.

I think it would be a great cam in your Jeep. I bought mine specifically to be a mid-range and up cam. I don't have high-strength axles in my LX so the only thing that more torque down low will get me is more tire spin. For me, it works great. I can get out of the hole without crazy tire spin and then at 2500 it kicks in the car takes off like a rocket (even before the blower). I think that its a great cam that is often overlooked due to everyone wanting tons of torque down low.

Just in case anyone is interested, this is what the SRT MAX 218/222 112 +2 sounds like in my 5.7.
