    Hey folks.
I just picked up a pre-owned Mopar Performance Computer for the Gen.III Viper engine(p/n 5153335), but it's got the previous owners VIN number still on it.

I'm curious which vendors here can re-VIN the computer, and their estimated cost and lead time.

    Any other suggestions are welcome.

    Thanks!

Look into a company called flight systems. I know us Neon guys can send Staged PCM's out to them, so they can flash a new vin.

Not sure if the flash Viper PCM's but give her a call.. Her name is Stephanie and her number is 586-888-0010, Extension 221. I dont know her personally, but this is a number I copied and pasted from another thread on the Nazi Forum.

Anybody with a StarScan right? What's wrong with the dealer?

I wonder if a skim rekey would do the trick on this one as well. Anyone have a viper service manual?

Well, Stephanie is no longer at ext. 221. It was Linda. She sent me over to Mike who said they only do Neons. No Vipers.

Figured I'd toss some cash to a vendor here before setting money afire at the dealer.

    Yes. Same year (2005).

Spoke with Dan Cragin at DC Performance this afternoon.
While they do amazing work, the $200 to re-VIN the MPC is too rich for my blood.

    Anyone else tackle these?

Other than Dave at B&G, I don't know of any other?

See post #3... How do they do that? Do StarScans come with the plug to accept modules or does that require extra hardware? When they flash a vin at the dealer do they only do it in the car? or does it have to be done externally first? Erik used to have a StarScan. Larry took a Bronco to his dealer and they lent him a 6sp Challenger. Maybe you'll get lucky.

    Thanks Dave. I'll call B&G.

Quick- I replied to your post (see center quote of post #6).
With my luck, my dealer would loan me something with Stow-N-Go seats.
    :D

    Thanks Tony.
Randy's a cool guy, but what he does is a FULL repro on the computer, with a super-aggressive tune. Starts at about $600.
Good reference to have though; the guy knows his stuff.

    1. I don't own a Viper.
    I own a Viper truck.

    2. I bought the pre-owned computer for $150.
    $150
    +
    200
    $350.
I can get a brand new Mopar Performance Computer for $250.
