Well since my alienation from GSM I have been finding and fixing MANY issues that their lack of attention and them being CHEAP have caused...

Well a few months back I discovered many kinks (5 to be exact) in the "Heater Hose" lines that feed the aftercooler water. WTF? Talk about not being very efficient. haha

Well this week I went over to Yearwoods (Vendor here) to obtain ALL of my AN fittings and Steel Braided lines (damn those parts are expensive haha). Well this morning I took the task to replace these lines.

This ended up being a 6 hour long project. UGH! But the out come is WELL worth it. I can feel the change in power and response the car has with the cooler air reaching the intake. hehe

I will add commentate above each picture as my flash was not working and most of the pics are dark. lol Sorry bout that.

Hoses and fittings. All Russell by the way.

Before the replacement began. This is the water filler located on the rear firewall. Always thought it to be a pimple. haha

Nose off. Here is the small radiator for the aftercooler system. Note the hose on the right... This hose runs from the radiator to the aftercooler. It is the line that is suppose to feed cool water to the intake. It has two kinks...

Kink #1 It kinks just before running through the radiator support. Just on the other side, it make another 90* turn up to the aftercooler. This is where kink #2 is located. Ya gotta love the Soft Heater Hose. NOT!!!!

You can't see the second kink, but that is where it is. lol

The other three kinks were on two of the lines coming from the filler to the waterpump and resevoir. Pics were too dark to see anything. Sorry.

Here is the new line from radiator to aftercooler. Notice it now goes around the radiator support (behind the headlight) rather than through the SMALL hole from original install.

This picture (can't really tell though) is the new AN fittings for the above mentioned at the after cooler. Originally, there was a 90* elbow. Now there is a straight AN fitting (to clear bottom hose fitting) with a 45* AN fitting. No more kinks. lol Edit, I took better pics. haha

Water filler has been relocated next to the Master Cylinder filler. I still have to clean up a bit and strap up the new lines, but you get the idea.

    Random engine shots.

For anyone who has the original GSM install, I highly suggest that you take a look at the water lines for the aftercooler. I also recommend that you replace the "Heater Hose" crap with at least some heavy duty nylon braided lines.

Next up, a new Blow Off Valve (BOV).

    Thanks for reading.

Looks good Ron! Why are you looking to change out the bypass valve?

hahaha Good catch Scott. I need to get a 90* elbow for the PCV. The Braided line won't bend enough to allow a good seal. Will work on that this week as well.
The BOV that GSM provides is great for small boost applications (something I asked them about when we built the motor and went high boost). Well, it finally stopped working. This is also the reason for my throttle staying open for 5 -6 seconds after letting off in WOT. Gilgamesh has the same problem.

What pics are you looking at? Are you using night vision goggles? I can't see squat in the ones without a flash... I assume Ron's going to post duplicates once he figures out how to work the camera?

ron - in one of the pics (one that i can actuall see!! lol) it looks like two sperate hoses running out of the custome coolant bottle. where does the second rubber hose go to??? does the coolant bottle work with the radiator for the aftercooler as well as the normal coolinf functions???

    lmao

The second hose is the over flow hose.

No, this reservoir is for the motor cooling only. The after cooler has it's own water source for cooling of the blower.

I just did the same thing ron. I also changed the sump to a 2 gallon unit, upgraded the wAter cooler radiator part to a biiger 03-04 cobra one and a much bigger water pump. Next is a custom sparco aftercooler
