I took the R/T Challenger to our brand new all-concrete drag strip Wednesday and even though it was only the third day of passes, the track was really nice! Here is all the info on my best run ... I don't even have a Diablo canned tune or anything yet!! We are the test car for their 09 stuff, so hopefully soon we'll have a canned and CMR tune to try out!
Wow!!! Much RESPEK! For what it is, that's an outstanding time. And you are just getting started I've seen new Challenger R/T six speeds with track packs for 31k at my local dealer and I begin to dream...we truly are living in the return of the muscle car glory days. Too bad the economy is crashing and it will probably end again all too soon. I'm scooping up leftover cars when I get older I want a Challenger really bad. Eric
wow lisa, that is great!!!! i know lots of srt's that run those times!!! i had a feeling the new track would be a quick one!!! i am hoping to be down there next week to see what kind of times i can run!!! i have a feeling there are going to be a lot of personal bests being set by the south florida folks this season on the "new moroso"!!! woo-hoo!!!
Here's a video of the run I just put together. Thanks to Kris for filming the trip down the track! http://www.tvbmc.com/play.php?vid=1074
I guess the reason it is faster is because it is a 2 door.....lol. Isn't it around 200 lbs lighter than the Charger? Plus a little more HP than the pre-2009 5.7.
I need to get it weighed, so hopefully this Wednesday at the track I can do that. The new 5.7 is rated at 370hp (mine dyno'd at 334 rwhp stock) so the extra power, better gears (3.06) and the weight helps!
