haha, yeah....i just have the 5.7....+sidewinder cam + diablo and cant stay anywhere near a 6.1. so.....i really doubt only gears makes this 5.7 chally a viable option. we will def see though once its tracked i guess.
I assuming by the fact you have the cam that you have the old 5.7, not the new 5.7 with the better heads I will just add opcorn: opcorn: opcorn:
yup old 5.7, same heads. i will bite and reply with new heads, cam and tune will barely run with a stock 6.1. a 6.1 with a tune will beat you badly every time.....or maybe things are diff for you east coast folks. i do hope it is better, imho the 5.7 has a lot more possibilities.
Oops typo Just some backround...typically LX 5.7's run low to mid 14's stock and a few will break into 13.9X w a diablo tune at our local track here. Stock SRT8s will run 13.2-13.6 stock, and around 13.0 w a tune on our track.
I already ran a Challenger RT with drag pack at the track....best of his day was a 14.0. Thought that was pretty good for him, being bone stock on stock tires.
I think they meant a Stock SRT....and TEEEECHNICALLY her chally isnt 100% stock but...for the mods she has...it basically is....and i think they just meant keep up...not beat/destroy hahahahahaha :friends:
So what did it run - a 13.7? I have heard of people getting 13.6s but nothing faster. Did I miss something with this post - like the f'in time?!? Eric
A little more info...the run was at Palm Beach International Raceway aka Moroso DA was 1600, humidity 70% and Temp 80 degrees....
so im guessing by that you mean you ran faster than the manual? i believe that would be possible, just because youre taking out the shifting human error factor... though i have no idea what the wait to discuss is about, kind of reminds me of another vendor....cough FRI...cough.
The wait is because we are swamped at the shop and I wanted to do a write-up and post on all 14 forums we are on at the same time. Yes, an automatic is quicker in that the shifting is automated, but the automatics lose more power to the tires, plus they have a 3.06 gear instead of a 3.73 or 3.92. So, a 6-speed with 3.73 or 3.92 gears and a decent driver should clean the clock of an automatic. I'll have my thread up soon.
So I guess we keep waiting then...but have you looked at the ratios of the frist three greas for the auto versus the manual? I only ask that because I know the first two in the auto are pretty steep...even though the overall ratio ends up being a 3.06:1. Eric
I ran a 13.532 @ 103.95 in my R/T with stock tires. Here are all the details ... http://www.srtconnection.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11294
