I just bought my SuperBee so Im new to the SRT scene so please bare with me if this is a stupid question.

I remember seeing a superbee that had a cherry bomb catback that cherry bomb installed for him, but when I search, most of the vendors only carry the 5.7L CatBack. Are the exhausts interchangeable, or do they not make a production exhaust for the 6.1?

I also see this with the flowmaster catback, why would they not make it for the 6.1L? After looking at what is offered for the 6.1 it seems a system for 600 or less would be nice.

5.7's are a 2.5" tube and 6.1's are a 3". that being said, talk to 1fast4dr, from what i understand he has 2.5" tubing on his exhaust.

Whats the issue that is preventing these manufacturers from making cat backs for the 6.1? Doesnt seem like there would be that much difference between the 2.

I think Ill just get the JBA with some Kooks HiFlo Mids and if I dont like it Ill just change out the mufflers or add some fat pipes to it to quiet it down some.

what sound are you looking for? a deep v8 or a glass pack?

zoomers will give you the glass pack sound....just swapping mufflers and reso delete will give you that v8 rumble.

of course, just long tube headers and cutouts will def do the job.

grab someflowmaster mufflers or any brand you want and have the shop weld up 3inch pipes. It will cost you much less than 600$ and you ge the same sound and gains. I will never buy a catback system I will always make my own

the 6.1's have a 2.75" stock exhaust so keep that in mind if looking into getting simple swap out mufflers....

only if you got your car with the "mopar" exhaust does it come with a 3"

Just go with any good cat back or if your all about a brand cut out the reso's and throw on the mufflers...thats what i did....

    LOL i know.
im going to have probally have to put a Cherry bomb on mine though (have side exit). i was looking in the SCCA SOLO rule book and it sayes that every car has to have a muffler so my car is going to have to get quiet :( last event i got in trouble because my car was too loud and was echoing off of the building way over the 96db @ 50ft limit.

    StevoSRT,

How do you know if your car came with the Mopar 3" exhaust? Does it look different?

This is the MOPAR/Corsa exhaust. Consider yourself lucky if your used SRT8 came with one - it's about $1500 :)

i installed 3" magnaflow mufflers, 3" magnaflow hi flow cats / mid pipes, and had 3" tubing custom bent from the mufflers back, then re used my stock 6.1 tips to keep it stock looking. AWESOME sound and cost me a total of just a tad over 600 WITH the price of the high flow cats!!!!! i will never buy a cat back system either!!!

because i can have one made to suit my tastes for a lot less!!!!

actually, many cat back systems for the 6.1 are 2.75" systems. if you do not plan on changing out the cats, then you are basically taking out a stock system that has the same tubing diameter for a more expensive system using similar tubing. basically it is the mufflers that are different. seeing as that is the case, just cut out the more restrictive stock mufflers and install better flowing ones for a lot less. get rid of the resonators as well. yes i know, people will dispute what i am saying and tell me all about drone issues, etc. the truth be known, that most systems out there still have drone issues, but at 2 -3 times the price!!!!
