So it lost a little by going with the 90 mm throttle body? Or am reading the graph wrong?

Yes, the AEM is that good. When we originally posted results we were using a baseline Mopar map. After fine tuning, this is the end result.

All these test will give everybody what you can expect from different mods.

    You are reading it correctly.

Note: These were tests conducted with a stock un-ported manifold. The next test will be with ported manifolds.

    Yes Sir,

    Holy Crap!!!

We will see how the next tests go.......

If I am reading right and this is a stock engine except for the AEM you show HP #s about 100HP higher than the average completely stock 6.1?

This is on an engine dyno (ie. crank hp numbers) not a chasis dyno (on the rollers)....

Still shows a big HP increase.....

Note: We are on a engine dyno, not a chassis dyno.

We just changed intake manifolds, getting ready to test again. We will be back with you shortly

    Here's The Results

Using the AEM Fuel Management Sytem

    Engine Dyno Results
DRC Cylinder heads w\Ported Manifold Stock Throttle Body 25-30 Hp Gain along with a gain of torque

DRC Cylinder Heads w\Ported Manifold W/90mm Throttle Body showed no improvements over the stock throttle body.

We also did NGK spark plug testing- Results 3-6 HP Gain

We went through about 55 gallons of 91 unleaded fuel. We made over 100 dyno pulls during this test.

    Evaluation:
    1. With the proper tuning along with the proper spark plugs these engines can make some serious power.
    • Cylinder head modifications are a positive gain along with ported manifolds.
    • Large throttle bodies don't seem to have an affect using this manifold. But I won't rule out that the 90mm throttle has potential with a different manifold system.
    • Picking the proper spark plugs is extremely important for the performance of this Hemi engine.
You need to run superior lubricants in these engines. All test performed were with CMW Pro Seies Break-In Oil.

Seems I wasnt crazy with my testing of the 90mm TB on a stock bottom end :)

Are you going to do the same testing on the 426?

    Yes,

We will eventually do the same testing. Right know we have the supercharged 426 motor back on the dyno . We hoping we can test before we fly out to Sema.

It looks like the AEM is worth around 50 WHP compared to stock, is that a good evaluation?
Are you using the AEM 30-1931 or the retro EMS unit?

We did more testing on the 6.1l w\ CMW Stage 2 Heads & Ported Manifold.

We are know pushing close to 500 HP (Flywheel Horsepower) using 91 octane.

We are pretty happy with the results.
