when i did mine i really wished i hadn't, after 2 hours or so trying to the lower heatshield off and rounding off one of the bolts i just said screw it and took the nibbler to it.
Well its DONE!! Thank GOD. it took about 6 hours. It was probably only and hours worth of work, but 5 hours of sitting there looking at it and wondering how the hell its goign to come off, and trying to figure out different methods. The heat sheald ended up comming off!! that is the stupidest design ive ever seen, the way it wraps around that one bar. O well its done i never have to deal with it again. and the performance and sound was well worth it!!! I thought i spun bad before, the car spins throung 3rd gear now. I need to learn to drive the car and spin some money on good tires, before i spin any more rmoney on performance stuff. Its pointless if u can hook up!
HELL NO!! It took more then just me. If it wasn't for my buddy and his car lift i would have never got it done. Its a good thing he was there i was ready to shoot the car and take up Smoking.... half way through it. That one bolt cloest to the front of the car is STUPID. IDK how he got it, but he did. I coudlnt get it.
Find me a hooker and u have a deal! and pay for the gas. I definatly would be easier the 2nd go around, becuase all my time was spent trying to figure out how to do it.
I'm not joking....I'm taking I-40 all the way back to Cali in early december. If you have the tools, I'll do it...for a place to crash on the way home.....
heh, well since you might be in the ABQ area... maybe ill happen to be at chris's that day, and have an o2 housing, case of beer, and 3 pizzas chillin on the hood for ya
I am 100% serious about going through ABQ. I have my route figured and I-40 takes my 90% of the way back. Since Mainsypoo offered a place to crash, I will definitely take him up on the offer. If there happens to be beer, pizza, and tools available, I'll help anyone there on anything. O2 housing included.
The heat shield is the worst part. Or..in my case...If the studs on the exhaust mani snap off. That sucks too.
how did u deal with the heat sheald? I personlly cut the damn thing off. Idk if that was the right thing, but o well its done! haha
thats what i did. cutting disk and plyers to bend it around. and bye bye heat shield!! I Pb blaseted the S*** out of all my bolts so they came off easy.. getting to them was the hard part. But im gald to see im not the only one who had to cut off the heat the shield. I have it saved for next week. Im sighting in the deer rifle for deer season and it will make a good target for reliving my all my frustration i had becuase of that stupid thing!
