Anyone ever mess with these things? I know they are basically a SVO Mustang, but I'm not into Fords.

It was too cheap to pass up. Now I've got to figure out what to do with it...

Needs minor body work, (hood blew open on the interstate) otherwise a nice car.

    1. Prep it for a cheap track day car

    2. Doll it up and re-sell it

    3. Sell it as is.

    4. Doll it up for a D.D.

    5. Part it out.

    Hey ASS!!!!!

I HAD a 1983 Ford Thurderbird Turbo Coupe.

    And I was in college.

    LMAO.

    5-speed manual.

Seemed quick in the day, but in reality it had to be pretty darn slow compared to today's standards.

I just sold my 91 Thunderbird Supercoupe (supercharged V6). Fun to drive but not much HP compared to the Hemi. It made 220 hp. They were notorious for trans problems.

I'm thinking the car would make a nice "disposable" track day / autocross car (no big deal if I stuff it into a tire wall! )

It handles decent, & has decent power. Plus fox mustang (read cheap) parts bolt right on. (a 5.0 is an easy swap if the turbo 4 takes a dump. )

um, ok....ill take your word for it. i just wouldnt be surprised if that thing blew on its first pass with that kind of psi needed to blow it up (literally) to 500hp.

i do know of a guy on thunderbird nest that ran a stroked 2.3 and made 580rwhp....but yeah, he was stroked.
