havent seen the wilson knives, but i know that les baer comes with a strider. im more of a tactical rifle/carbine guy myself. i suck w/a pistol. all i have are that, a glock 23 and an hk usp 45 compact. i mean im good enough to qualify to dod and dos standards but the carbine and scoped rifle are my bread and butter. i have an rr lower w/a 9.25" hk 416 upper, a noveske 9.5" carbine and whats basically an m40 except its a .30 -06. my next will either be an m14dmr or an origional garand in good shape with matching serial numbers. every time im in a store the first thing i look for are the garands. they had a decent one in mechanicsville yesterday but none of the numbers matched and they were asking 1000 for it. for that much ill get a brand new one thank you very much!

ive owned two wilson combat pieces. both were nice, but both were more money than they were worth imho. if you had ever owned one, i would think you knew what you were talking about. since you havent, youre kinda talkin out your ass again.

i had a carry and a professional. both were good weapons, easy to clean and take apart obviously. the problem was they needed constant upkeep, if you didnt it would look like shit in a week. too much crap on it like the raptors.

if you had ever taken one apart, you would know that almost every damn part is made the exact same way as the baseline kimbers. each and every one. the only thing custom about it is the notching, tool marks and diff grips you can order with the wilson combats.....aka its not a big deal. lol, i love guys like you though, people that talk about something like they know....then turn around and say they know it because they shot them this one time at band camp.

my dad has been into guns for the past 20+ years as well. he still shoots like shit and thinks the sig 226 i got him is harder to shoot than the glock 23 i got him the year before.....just because youre older, doesnt make you a viable source of information. :hypno:

now give me one of my many 45s, sig and kimber (all sub $1200), set me up against whatever target at 25 yards and i will straight smoke you and your buddies wilson combat in ever single regard.

i have seen a les baer at the range i go to. i asked the guy if i could shoot a few through it and did. it was the nicest 45 i have ever laid my hands on....though i would never buy one for what theyre asking.

No i have not owned a wilson 1911, but i got numerous friends that1s had em in excess of 10 years and they still look great......not even any wear marks from being carried, so i don`t know why your wilsons were so hard to keep up. There is NOTHING on a kimber built to the tolerances of a wilson. Like i said above KIMBER IS A PRODUCTION GUN........THERE IS NOTHING CUSTOM ABOUT IT! That`s why there affordable for a wider market

Wait aminute......you have owned 2 wilsons, but you would not pay the price les baer is asking...WTF! Wilsons cost more that less baers and you bought 2 of those......sumthing aint quite right here!

you determine quality from wear marks on the exterior? now that is the dumbest thing ive ever heard. you determine quality on how many rounds you put through a weapon and what problems occur at over 4,000. pins, slides, springs, etc....all internal components. you just looking at your buddies gun doesnt prove a thing about long term life or quality of materials.

its all the fancy shit that is hard to keep up on the wilson. all needing constant attention is annoying whereas my kimbers are shoot, store, shoot, store, clean. thats it.

you keep stating over and over about tolerances, yet you dont know what youre talking about. kimbers testing is far and away much better than wilson combat. you can look it up but last time i checked, the kimber barrels were factory tested running 2000 rounds through them and the wilson, only 100 or so.

i didnt buy wilson....as i stated above, i owned them...i would never buy one because i didnt find them at all special. my cousin ran into some financial issues and had me hold onto them until he got me the money. he by the way got them in a car deal and didnt pay for them either...but thats a bit more info than you need for your inquisition. reading and comprehension are both difficult to learn when youre stuck in caps lock.
