OK so I've started my "cheap ass S/C" setup build and since I have a stock bottom end I'm going to stay with around 5psi of boost with the Novi 1200 unit I'll be using. I've got the SRT-4 stage 1 injectors on their way ($115 shipped WOOT) and I'm wondering if there's a real need for a fuel pump or boost a pump at around 450 WHP? I'm going to be upgrading the IC to a front A/A like jected showed in another post but that's about it. I'll reuse the plate, head unit and BOV from the kit. BTW, anybody have a base tune they can email me to get this thing running? I'm assuming I can't just add fuel/remove timing with the Predator enough to make it work. Also, what is the Mopar 2 bar MAP sensor part # as I'll need that too.
I posted this on the LX forums, maybe I'll have better luck here: OK so I have some questions: Anybody have the belt # for the GSM S/C kit so I can buy one (maybe NAPA?) Can someone post a picture of the belt routing please. Thanks!
I sent you a PM on LXF with the 2bar MS part number. I can not remember the belt part number, but yes, it comes from Napa. I "Think" it is the 114mm belt. The routing of the belt is gonna be easy as you are only adding the blower pulley and the pulley guide... I can help you with that when you are ready. 2 Bar Map Sensor part #: 05033224AB
Thanks man! LX forums seem kinda screwed up right now and I'm silly and didn't realize you were a big shot on here. Thanks and I'll be hitting you up soon!!!
OK so here's what I've done so far: 1. Picked up a used Novi 1200 based GSM kit for $1800 (picking up Sat.) 2. Bought a set of 8 injectors from the srtforums.com for $115 shipped (SRT-4 guys take these off and upgrade constantly) 3. Bought the MAP sensor for $10 locally from an SRT-4 guy 4. Bought a new belt from another member (pending) for $40 Next parts will be to get everything on the car and have my friend fab up a new IC and piping over the next 2 or 3 weeks and install everything. I just need to find an A/A IC core that's around 24x9x3 for the front mount.
Check with Vortechs for the bigger core. They are a Vendor here. Also, our friendly Supporting Vendor in Paxton can probably get you some misc stuff.
Get some good fuel rails too.......the billet tech ones are probably the best and do front and rear crossovers......then if needed run a -8 an line from the tank to the rail.
I don't want to have problems with lack of fuel but is that really necessary for a stock bottom end 5psi S/C setup?
Mike, Don't help his already huge "EGO"! He has enough trouble getting his melon in the charger with the window up:bigwink:! Ask lots of questions and take your time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You don't want to Ron your motor (a few times)
I found this: http://www.bmcspeedshop.com/product_p/aei-14146.htm http://www.bmcspeedshop.com/product_p/bmcp-mflk-1.htm Although cool and neat and could possibly save my motor but that's $390.00...!!!! In the long run cheap compared to a new short block but at 5psi of boost isn't it possible that's overkill? If all the Vortech/Paxton/Procharger kits out there, how many have not done this and lived? Trust me when I throw a low compression bottom end in it and up the boost to 15+ psi I will gladly upgrade the entire fuel system but at this stage I honestly don't think it will require it.
OK, well my 1st 4 injectors showed up and my new MAP sensor ($14.25) today, 2nd set of injectors should be here by Friday. I was going to pick up the S/C tonight but I had to work tonight/tomorrow night so I'll get it Saturday. Need to pick up the Treadstone TR12 IC on the 15th and then drop the car off to get the piping bent/welded then wait for it to get coated then install it. Should be done by end of month/beg of Nov. Found a BAP on Amazon.com for $241!!! NEW http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00063033U
