Does anyone know how they do in the snow? I'm considering a Jeep and was curious if they push through the winter time shit, I'd rather not but it would be nice if they could.
I drive mine yr round in NY. Though only once a week. I live in the country, & haven't had any problems yet. The stock GY's do ok, but others have used dedicated winter tires w/great results. The low front facia can be a concern, but you are used to that.
What is the snow you speak of:cold: I think it all boils down to how good of a driver you are in snow/ice conditions, having AWD and traction control helps but like stated the low front fascia could be an obstacle just remember if it snows in Texas STAY AWAY we do not know how to drive in ice or snow-LOL
If I lived in an area that got alot of snow I would want more of a lifted Jeep (rubicon) or 4x4 truck, I would imagine the power the SRT Jeep may be too much for icy conditions could you imagine me driving in snow/ice!!!
my car does good in the snow as long as its not too deep.........lol be gentle on the gas pedal Wade and u would be fine...........HAHA yea right

I've had lifted w/big tires, & problems on ice w/large lugged tires vrs normal all seasons. Deep snow/offroad is a different story. I had a AWD WJ before & the SRT8's AWD is better/kicks in quiker. IMO.
my mom drov in CO thew the winter if she can do it any one can. she need to turn off traction control some times in heavy snow Yeah the owners manual actually suggest that good point
Really depends on how good of a driver you are. I personally love the Jeep in the snow but I drive an e-150 van(rwd) for work as a daily. If you have been driving in the winter without awd all this time, driving the Jeep will be a piece of cake. You have 7 inches of clearance from the bottom of the front bumper to the ground.
I drove mine very lil in snow last winter and I was impressed with how it handled when I did drive it .I live in W.I. and we broke records on snow fall last winter...I am thinking about selling mine if you are interested.
johns right turn ESP totally or it comes on instantly and u go nowhere especially with those shitty GY's. turn off and ease into the gas then floor it lots of fun. my new 426 in tahoe next winter watch out incline NV!
They work fine in the snow, don't go bigger with the diameter as that will eggagerate the rear slip-front engagement, and it won't handle like a machine with a 4HI option in the transfer case, it's something to get used to but it does work well.
Pretty much what I was going to say (except for the van, of course ) Rarely are you pushing 12" of snow, and the AWD is awesome. You will get around better than most FWD cars on icy roady.
my neon goes great in snow, expecially on bald tires, got stuck in a blizzard in 07 and they closed I-40 and i was the only one on the road and made it back no problems. also very fun to get sideways. a jeep will do alot better then any other SRT just as long as you drive smart. so get the GC8!!
Snow + Jeep = Whee! I've taken my ole ladies Jeep SRT up to the snow in Cali and it was just fine. I didn't drive it in more than 4" on the ground, but it handled fine in a pretty good blowing flurry with snow on the ground. I don't drive in frozen conditions often and I was damned glad that bad boy stuck to the ground even at weird angles.
