I had mine disassembled and polished and was wondering if the torque on the bolts holding the throttle body and bottom tray to the manifold was critical. I just used a ratchet to get them "medium tight" so they won't back out but not so tight that I damaged the aluminum. Also I don't think there should be a problem re-using the throttle body to manifold rubber gasket. Opinions? Last thing. The manifold to cylinder head bolt holes had black plastic inserts. Some of them fell out during the polishing/cleaning. What do these do and how critical are these. I may just use some from the manifold that is coming out.
when i put my spacer in i put tightened mine down about meduim. it has been like that for a year now no problems. about your other question i don know
The spacers act as a "dissimilar materials buffer" to ward off the negative effects of dissimilar expansion rates of the adjacent dissimilar metals. They are necessary.
