(dislcamer ... yes Ron, sorry, but I'm going off on the oil companies again, just look the other way ok, lol!)

I should have put this thread in the rants and raves forums so I could use every gawd damn swear word there is but ... I want everyone to see it so I can see what everyone thinks, and see what eveyone is paying.

So, oil is now at $92/barrel and dropping, a full $55/barrel off it's high of $147 a few months ago when gas prices shot up from $2something/gal to well over $4 with a high in this area (SF Bay Area) of around $4.50/gal. For regular that is, close to $5 for super, REAL close. (I know you right-coasters feel the same pain ... I hear ya Stevo!)

BUT, as of this morning with oil in a freefall gas prices around here are still INSANELY HIGH, OUT OF CONTROL HIGH imo! Regular is still at near $4/gal!! WTF?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?! ($3.89/gal) Super is still well over $4. Oil has dropped $55/barrel yet our gas prices haven't even dropped $1/gal, WHAT THE *&^% IS GOING ON?!?! Can someone tell me please?? And what's everyone else paying out there now, are just us Bay Area Nor Cal'ers getting the shaft or what??

I filled up yesterday at $3.76/gallon for 93...AND that was after the hurricane had hit and they jacked the gas prices up. This was in San Antonio.

I saw one gas station near the house trying to get $5.39 a Gallon for premium(93) on Sunday...Most of the other stations are around $4.39 (Ike) before Ike hit we were down to around $3.59 for premium. (from a high of about where it is now)

If I drove into a gas station and they had gas for $5.39 a gallon I would ask the manager as to where his daughter is, figure out the rest.

Then I might fill up, but probably not. :)

Gouging is one thing, and I am glad your Attorney General is investigating.

Now, about your comment above. There is a reason WHY gas stations raise their price in such events as a Hurricane.

Supply and demand. There is NO supply (see above in bold) yet the demand is high. Most Oil Companies will raise the price to try and slow down the demand so that the underground storage tanks do not go dry.

    Scott,

Sorry man, I am not sure where you are buying your fuel, but my parents just got back from San Jose and they were seeing 3.78 for unlead.

    Unlead here is 3.52.

Still paying 5 bucks for a gallon f2cking MILK! lol

Hahaha, you couldn't stay away could ya, lol! Didn't you read my disclaimer at the top!! lol!

Ok, for the record at lunch today I noticed prices had dropped from this AM but only a bit. I go by 2 76s, a Chevron, a Shell AND a Rotten Robbies (local discounters) on my short drive to work. Cheapest of the biggies was 3.85/gal for regular. RR was not much better, 3.77/gal. That's still WAAAAAAAAAY too much for oil costing $90/barrel. We here in Cali have special gas too, only for us, comes from Alaska and is specially formulated (aren't we lucky?!?!), yet somehow whenever there's any kind of "event" anywhere in the country (or the world for that matter) they jack up OUR prices here. It's bs.

And enough with the milk already Ronnie, BUY A DAMN COW!!!!! LOL!!!

Ok Ron, I don't see Milk jumping $25/gal now do you! lol
