I bought my future wife new 07 LTZ Tahoe. Since then I bought myself the GCSRT8. We were both pretty much ignorant to the whole SRT line until I bought mine. Well, she loves my jeep and wants one just like it now. Since I make the payments, I'm faced with a decision. Do I buy another SRT jeep for her or do I let her drive mine and get myself a SRT Charger? I'm going to sell the Tahoe privately most likely. What would y'all do? I like the chargers a lot too, but also like the idea of matching jeeps. The used prices are great and I'll actually have smaller payments by getting rid of the tahoe. What's the best thing to do?
I think you should get a Charger IMO- have 2 diff. SRTs to enjoy! And you get to drive a New car lol!
I like the "His and Her" jeeps idea! I own an SRT8 Magnum but I got to drive all of the SRT products at the SRT Experience recently. The jeeps are awesome. They were the fastest of the SRT lineup on the 8th mile dragstrip and they were surprisingly awesome on the road course.
I really am torn with this decision. If the jeep is not "my car" I will really miss it so I want to just get her a jeep too. But, with the Challengers coming out, there will be a lot of charger trade-ins to pick from at a good price. Murdered chargers are super cool, and I like the blue bees. Luckily I have until the Tahoe sells to make up my mind. I wish I could just buy both....LOL.
I'd say a Chally. But if just between the Charger & GC, it's very close ...go GC. Unless you want a change/alternate rides, then go Charger. I'm no help. lol
I have a friend selling his Charger http://lvsrt.com/forums/index.php?topic=3986.0 The time has come to let her go so I figured I'd throw a "soft" post here first to see if anybody was interested. I'd rather the car go to someone that will appreciate it. I have thoroughly maintained the car myself and have the records for my performance mods. The car has a little over 21,100 miles and is still under factory 3/36 warranty. It is a 2006 Inferno Red(rarest color SRT) SRT-8 with option group I, II and III................only option missing is rear dvd player. It has dvd navigation, satellite radio, power everything, sunroof, kicker 10 speaker stereo with sub, suede/leather seats throughout. I did a few subtle visual mods which include body color painted front emblem,"SRT" in wheels, all silver trim in interior(now bodycolor), shaved trunklid and trunk lock hole, relocated "SRT-8" emblems to front fenders and added a stitched leather padded center console cover and removed body side mouldings on the doors. Power upgrades(which are completely hidden) include Dynamic Racing port n polish heads with upgraded valves, springs, retainers, Comp 268 custom grind camshaft, B&G Stage II tune, AFE S2 cold air intake, phenolic intake manifold spacers, and DMH electric cutouts. I just put a brand new pair of Nitto 555R 305/35 20 drag radials on the rear of the car and have the original Goodyear RSA 245 45 20's up front(depending on price I can get a new pair of any tires for wholesale if need be). The car is in awesome condition both aesthetically and mechanically. I've run a 12.8 @ 108 with a 2.0 60' and it dynoed 422hp/420tq to the wheels(which I believe is a little low considering my track times). I am asking $32,000 cash/cashiers check/bank funded check. The NADA book value on the car "stock" with 26,000 miles(I have 21,xxx) is $31,800 without included my $10,000 in modifications or the mileage credit. Private party sales in Nevada do not have sales tax applied so you save $2,480 there plus dealer doc/title/other BS fees which would put you at about $3,000 total...................to technically you'd be getting the car for $29,000. Let me know if any of you are interested; I could go down on the price for a club member. If you know anybody outside the club the price stays at $32,000..................but I will offer a $150 birddog to you once the car is sold.
New = Challenger. Used = Magnum. .... or my '04 SRT-10 truck super cheap.......... Factory warranty good for 22,000 more miles or next June.
Amazing how younger? men? push four doors. Are you all PW'd? What happened to this country? Did ya'll get old before your time? Do you not realize what a great deal the '09 R/T Challenger is with almost 400 h.p. and an available 6 speed? At least $10K less than a stripped SRT-8 and damned near as fast? If you still do not believe that, old men, wait until you see the vert!
Can't really go wrong with either choice...but one of each, the whole variety thing, that's the way I'd go.
Skye you remember that SRT8 Blue Super Bee at the car show, Waco Dodge has #62 and they have had it for a LONG TIME, get with me as I know them well if your serious that is what I would buy
