My dealer called me this morning to let me know they received their first 09 Ram.....they always let me know when something new arrives......I took the truck for a drive.....beautiful truck and dang what a ride!....smoothest riding truck I have ever drove...the 5.7 hemi (now 390 HP) provided excellent power....the whole truck was laid out well....plenty of room and very comfortable seats..........if I was in the market for a truck this would be my first choice.....
The one I drove had a MSRP of $42,xxx............it was well equiped but there were another $2K options I would want if it was the family ride....$45K is a lot for a truck........but dang it was a pleasure to drive...............but dont worry..I aint trading the 10 for it..
yeah man...if i was gonna pay that much i'd be looking for an HD truck rather than a 1500.... did you drive the 1500 or an HD?
I think that when the time does come for a new truck....its gonna be a 2500HD ram or a F-250... I will hit up my dealer tomorrow to see if they got any new ram's in....
IMO Dodge did their homework on this one....my wife is wanting a QC truck but the Dodge trucks had issues......the 09 seemed like they corrected all her complaints....very well done.......but like I said...the 09 Ram is a really sweet ride...and..my 10 is noisy and hard riding...but it is the funnest truck I have ever drove...:flowers:
yeah i hear a ton of good things about the 09 ram....the suspension upgrades being #1.... although i really dont have any complaints about mine....always want more power but thats a given lol.... but with the new tires the thing is pretty smooth and fairly quite (except for my exhaust LOL)... I just want more towing/payload capacity
Suspension was the most noticiable advance....did not ride like a truck at all...more car like...very smooth and no bounce.....
I'm holding out for the 2500s. If they are anything like the 09's I'll be getting one of those for sure.
Purchased a pair of new F-250 SD's this summer for my foremen to drive and they like them a lot. They augment a couple of GMC Sierra 2500's we have and seem to be good bang for the buck (F-250's are essentially V-8 powered wheel barrows IMO - poor mileage, lots of grunt for hauling).
The 2500/3500 remain unchanged for '09. When they do change them they wont get the same suspension the '09 1500 has. They will most likely remain rear leaf springs.
