Jected, We have the same numbers in mind and I to am concerned with how much the blower can produce without severe belt slippage, will be surprised if it makes it to 800 rwhp. It takes so much more air to produce hp in these large motors. My car should be done next week so, we should keep in touch to compare our results. Can't wait to here the result on that monster! Good Luck! Walter
Thanks Walter. Also what build have you got going. Man how good is it now that everyone is beginning to get some big banger builds going. I formally want to thank DIABLO SPORT once again for tuning capabilities which enabled me and many others this chance. THANKS GUYS! We have already anticapated that and without giving anything away yet, we have sorted it.... Watch this space. I also believe people will be wanting all over this once done as well...... He did but that was also GAS assisted (nothing wrong there either - Top bloody result that). Our aim is to hit 850+rwhp motor and blower only. The ultimate goal would be to hit 1000rwhp no gas.
Getting there mate. Theyare just finishing off the manifold and new core and finishing fabrication for ********************************** that is going into it (hehehehehe - the final peice). They are aiming to fire it up tomorrow all things going to plan. Will have more of an update later today.
Jected, Some of the information regarding my build are in my sig. As to the specifics I will get that info from Andy (PPP). To be honest I tell them my goals, pay the money and enjoy the ride.
Ron Do you know if they were using the RDP HTV2300 blower? If so, I wounder if they used a larger crank pulley or used a smaller blower pulley.
Anthony is using the Paxton kit. Just like mine. He has an ATI Pulley (I believe it is a 7%) and a 2.62 blower pulley.
Update for the week. The car is definitely coming along now however there has been a slight setback with the manifold core. It wasn't as efficient as they would have hoped/liked and it has been re designed and built to suit what the car needs. Throwing 25 pounds + at this requires over the top cooling and they think they have this pegged now. The new core is a cupronickel piece which will also sit an inch or so higher than the manifold and the best news is that the core will be trial fitted in the morning. The transmission. This has also been sorted now and I have decided on a Turbo 400 unit. This will come with all the bells and whistles including manual valve body and trans brake. Stall will be set at 3500rpm and will be built to handle 2000hp (now wouldn't that be nice to reach those figures). The electronics have also been looked into and they feel this can be done no probs at all. There is some work and reverse engineering to be done in order to get this work however they have done this type of thing on other vehicles and have a good idea on which way they will go. The rear end. Will be looking at running a nine inch IRS setup which I am hoping won't be as hard to fit up as it sounds. The guys at HP/F have built a similar setup for their Monaro (GTO in USA) and will be looking for them to do a similar setup on mine later in the year (unless mine is detroyed earlier than that). We are pushing to have the car running by this weekend however this will be on a safe car tune. What does this mean? It means that we know certain components of the car will be destroyed running at full power. SO, because I want the car for a crusie on Sunday and the dyno comp on Saturday it will be set at maximum safe operation (dyno will probably see more boost thrown at it as damage won't be as likely on the dyno as it would on the street). There is still no promise that it will be ready for me to drive this weekend and the decision will be made by HP/F as to whether it will be safe to do so or not (that and time to get it done and dialed in. Fingers crossed people. Anyway that is where I am at right now. I will probably have daily progress reports as we go now as its being worked on every day. Talk soon.
We are getting there people and I am as anxious as anyone. The guys gave it a good crack at getting it started this weekend however time just got away from them. This week will see it fire up no problem though. Final fabrication of certain pieces took longer than expected. Everything else is pretty much buttoned up. Anyway here a few sneak pics before I post up pics and video of it running.
Damn it Daniel, tell them to hurry up. I am running out of popcorn and the cushion on the edge of my seat is worn out. lol LOVE the intake.
