We know the vortech tune pulls a TON of timing low. We also know that these kits pull alot harder on the freeway. I think you said I had 6-7 on you from 60 to 125 or so and jason pulled slightly on me with my extra weight...I think my tune right now pulls much harder then the vortech tune down low. I guess we need to run you and me to see if it does or not. I am only on my 3rd revision but I am getting a lot more timing low end so maybe. I know previously with my B&G i was seeing 20-22 degrees vs my 3-15 with the vortech tune...thats a big diff.

Which track lets you go from a roll? They could have Bud drive but he's never been to a track before. Surely there must be someone in SD that can drive?

Street tires on street tires. NO DR's needed.

I don't know what track racing with street tires, at this point, will do. Even with the Vredesteins (top notch street tires), I'm breaking loose with traction control on into 2nd and going sideways... and having to let off/feather the throttle... thus losing ground... I sincerely need 1/2 shafts and DRs to get ANY sort of idea what my car's capable of. She pulls past folks in the upper rpms/speeds, but down low, once she hits her magic rpm, my tires are like greased pigs.

Now, being able to hook up right away, now that'd be telling! Just like the bone stock days... get the rpms up a bit and hammer it. Then I'd be really in business.

Don't get me wrong, my car moves... but if I could go near WOT from 1st into 2nd, and not be spinning/going sideways, it'd move alot quicker for sure.

Before you all start bashing my driving, I CAN launch her in 1st, but 2nd is a MF'er to control... she hits high rpms and its game on (and rubber off the tires). Its like going 1/4 throttle 1/2 way through first, then 3/4 then WOT, then I have to back it off going into 2nd until I've got her rolling real good.

Vortech is proving to me the adage of "power is useless unless you can put it to the ground"... I can't totally unleash my car before nearly hitting 3rd gear... WITH traction control on.

BTW: who wants to help me install brake pads in the coming weeks?!?? I'm hearing a little squeel from the rears (spinning too much with traction control on has worn my rear pads out).

Install them yourself....I have already done it with you once. It's easy as hell. I've changed my pads out twice since I showed you how to do it.

Oh...and I don't buy the feathering/spinning stuff. I drove your car a couple weeks ago and didn't have any problems. Now, it may be cooler tonight and the blower likes cold air....and the tires don't. But, were you really feathering the throttle...it doesn't sound like it in the videos...watch em again!

Going into and 1/2 way through 2nd, she spins... my ass end kicked out noticeably on 2 runs... and I had to ease off... I completely lifted on that first run when you spanked me. Scouts honor on that!

How big a difference would it make for me to have stayed WOT throughout? Beats me... but it would only make the car perform better.

    * I just rewatched the first video... you hear squeels, and I drop back... that's when she broke loose and I let off a bit.

Don't get me wrong, I was expecting more, but it is what it is for now.

That you can now turn it sideways in first and second is obviously a sign that you are puting alot of power to the wheels, now if you can find a way to control it that 60' time will be insane!

    Im jealose.

Before the pully upgrade the Vortech kit increased my times on the same track by right around .3 which is a LOT. Traction is still an issue, but times and top speed are definitely better. I am going to try and hit the track next week with the new pully.

Drew, you should mention that it's an 1/8th mile track (with a gravel pit to launch out of). Only .3 gain in the 1/4 and I wouldn't be too happy.
