Ive had a few people ask me how i cut under 1.7 60fts when i am out at the track on slicks so i figured i would make a write-up of my technique that works for me what i do is pull into water box in 1st gear and spin the tires a lil bit out of the water box. fully engage the ebrake after you get out of the water box and do a 2nd gear burnout until you see smoke and let the ebrake down spinning to the line. At the line i will rev up to roughly 4200 rpms and preload clutch right before it will catch which is halfway up for me. As soon as the third yellow hits i let up the clutch so it catches feathering the clutch a lil bit and floor the gas. Pretty much as soon as the clutch is fully disengaged i tap the clutch keeping my foot on the gas fully and slam into second and jump off clutch (obviously wot shifting haha). For second to third same thing tap clutch with foot all the way on the gas and slam into third around 5900 rpms and pop clutch back out. same for fourth. It takes a lot of practice but with practice it makes perfection. my best 60ft is a 1.68 but i have some traction mods like meghan racing coilovers, bwoody traction bars with h-brace, front and rear strut bars, motor mount inserts and agp tranny mount. i have a act 6puck sprung clutch. i was on m&h 23in slicks. i hope this helps you next time you are out at the track. I do not know my whp but this was on the stock turbo best time to date is a 12.11 at 111 with a 1.71 60ft. I am very consistent with 1.68-1.73 60fts .
