So the new Pulley that Vortech gave the R&D guys is this because they are thinking of changing the kit to add more power? Knowing they are making changes to an already existing kit what are they going to do to the customers that already shelled out money and will have an outdated kit?

Vortech told us that there is currently no plan to include the smaller pulley in the production kit. Now, that doesn't mean they won't offer it to the public in the future as an upgrade option.

Very cool thanks for the heads up. So the original thought when they put these kits out was that it was built to allow stock internals to stand the test of time. If you dont mind me asking what made them decide that upping the boost was a good thing? And is the new pulley really making a difference.

I see that some street results are showing noticeable improvements over the old thread where momo barely pulled on a SRT8 with just a diablo canned tune. Did they change anything else besides the pulley to see these type of results?

Vortech's primary goal with their kits is safety. That's why they offer the 6# pulley in their kit and a warranty. They NEVER want to have a blown motor from an off-the-shelf kit.

Upping the boost was an experiment that seems to be going well. They are still evaluating logs and impressions from all of us with a smaller pulley. That's why we can't say for certain if they'll offer this to the public or not. Its still undergoing R&D. The smaller pulley is worth about 30 extra HP.

Yes, the tune was worked on further based on the R&D owners feedback. That's why Jason's car did one thing 2 months ago and more this past weekend. Jason had an early tune when he picked his car up from R&D, now he has a tune similar to the production kit.

The smaller pulley -and tune- make a big difference, at least in SOP feel, as I have no track numbers to provide proof... my street cred has drastically improved as of this last weekend's runs.

Like Adam is saying, we're R&D vehicles, so we're gonna get stuff, one way or the other, before most folks... if these tweaks are offered to the general public, who knows at this point. Be patient young Skywalker! Vortech even had to fabricate new oil caps for us! That's how mindful of the details those folks are! Whatever they'll end up putting out there is sure to be bulletproof. BTW: we're seeing higher than 7 lbs, and Drew flogged his car last weekend at the track with ZERO problems and awesome performance (I think he barely lost twice out of like 15 runs)... his car's a daily driver too.

Jason - we need to go do the test run today or tomorrow and post the results. It should/will be a HUGE difference from last time.

Sounds good! We'll do a few runs over at the strip to see who's faster in a straight line. And then we'll do a few Proving Ground runs to see who has the faster car!
