I see two cars (which I'll chime in on in a bit) that just DO NOT FIT....at least not in this order.... Forbes Top 13 Hottest Sports Cars of 2008 13. Aston Martin DBS 12. Audi R8 11. Audi TT 10. Bentley Continental GT Speed 9. Chevrolet Corvette 8. Dodge Viper SRT10 7. Ferrari 430 Scuderia 6. Lamborghini Reventon 5. Lotus Elise/Exige 4. Maserati GranTurismo 3. Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Roadster 2. Nissan GT-R 1. Porsche 911 GT2 Please Discuss. __________________
Yes, in fact, even if they're talking about the Z06...take a look at the last Car & Driver. Although the 08 Viper is like 15000+ more than the Z06, it beat it in every performance category surprising even the C&D staff. Although their pick remained the Z06 for it's everyday driveability. Something about the Viper's exhaust burning a hole in their right leg lol...However, aesthetically speaking and, as always, in my opinion...the Z06 (which I love) just doesn't cut it beside the Viper. If you're car crazy, you know a Z06 when you see one. If you're not...it's a Vette. But the sight of a Viper SRT10 pulling up to that fine dining/entertainment venue leaves people's mouths....:surprise: Team Mopar WOOT! Interestingly enough, the C&D crew remarked that their fastest all-time lap at VIR was actually done driving the SRT10. Now, I also know what a wicked track car the Lotus is and can be...but for sheer unadulterated power, it shouldn't even be on this list...as I can think of a few that surpass it. Shoot if we're talking go-carts, the Ariel Atom X (??) is street-legal and would put a whoopin on it. :bottom:
I full agree Milan. And I can NOT stand the Lotus. IMO it is FUGLY. However, it is a twisties handling sled hands down.
Haha, if anyone saw the last Bullrun series with Goldberg as the host, the dudes driving the Lotus would make you hate the car itself that much more.
Please note that this is MY OPINION of these cars...and has nothing to do with the quality or speed... give me the viper...ill be set... or the bently so i can sell it and use th $ for mods
13. Aston Martin DBS -Looks like a fricken fish...does not belong on this list 12. Audi R8 - Audi tried waaay to hard on this one...and what's with the crappy torque rating? 317 ft lbs? Come on. 11. Audi TT - if you're into things designed for midgets then um..ya. 10. Bentley Continental GT Speed I'd take one! Thanks. 9. Chevrolet Corvette Should definitely be the Z06...and just awesome. 8. Dodge Viper SRT10 SWEET...just sweet. 7. Ferrari 430 Scuderia Now they're on the right track...thing's SIIIICK 6. Lamborghini Reventon Awesome. Another hit from Lambo. 5. Lotus Elise/Exige WTF...lay off the coke for a bit...doesn't belong 4. Maserati GranTurismo Very nice car but at only 405 hp/339 lb.-ft. is lacking heftily to make it at number 4. Perhaps for exclusivity and interior but nothing else. 3. Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Roadster Classic and timeless 2. Nissan GT-R Mmm. IDK, not number 2, but very nice and a beast on the twisties for sho! 1. Porsche 911 GT2 This thing is BADASS!! Every bit the looker and performer...world class and a fine debate can me made for it's number 1 spot. Wonder how many Seinfeld has.
Probably right. Although, I just can't warm up to the car's overall look. Something about it, to me, says: "Hello, I'm a highly modded 350Z". I won't dispute its abilities, just its appearance.
I agree...it is a very nice ride...but a tad too much like a really modded out 350Z....IDK, maybe because it's Japanese, I'm biased. Just me.
Having driven several Vipers (car) I would choose the Z06 over the Viper...the Vette is better designed for the street...Viper is still a little crude...........of course I wouldnt turn one away..:naww:
Milan, was this the posters personal favs or some poll by someone or based on actual sales or what? I see lots to discuss!!
Yes, that is the biggest grievance I've read in the Viper reviews...although the 08 is much improved in acceleration and handling. Besides, something tells me it wouldn't be my daily driver if I could afford to buy one new anyways. Scotty, this was borrowed from the OC as a copy of "Forbes" top 13 Hottest cars...although I don't know how they're defining "Hot"...hot selling or hot whatever...regardless of what the list is...I disagree with them at least in part.
wtf is #4 doing on that list same with the TT. I would rather solstic over the TT. And wow that renton lambo is sick. And I still would have ha the viper over the vett. And as for the gt-r that cars SICK I reember reading an articul that said if they where to price it for what it can do and compete with it would cost 400,000$
Ok, now I can reply even though we don't know what "Hottest" means. I agree with you that I disagree with a lot there but not knowing what "Hottest" means it hard to say how. I love all cars and love most of those on the list but the Bently isn't really a "sports car" so that shouldn't be there and the Audi TT must be selling well for it to be there when clearly the Porsche Boxster is superior (I'd even say the BMW and the Merc as well). And why 13?!?! Top 10 or 15 but 13?? Just trying to get your attention I guess ...
True dat. At it's projected 480 horse and AWD...can you imagine how this thing will be with just a tune and an exhaust? I think the front end leaves a tad to be desired but a price of 70 G's...I can see them being quite popular...especially with the import crowd. A performance monster fo sho!
Just me or does this car remind you of a fish? Aston Martin DB9 I like the body contours...but the grill is fugly and doesn't flow well with the rest of the car.
