Race = 1/8th. 5.69 @ 121.78 are best time and speed. Test = 1/4. 9.105 @ 142.45 are best time and speed. Runs out of RPM when running the 1/4 or trap speeds would be about 8 mph higher.
Depends. 1) Change valve springs to get more RPM 2) Change rear end gear ratio 3) Change tire size to go from 100" circumference to 105" 4) Have torque converter serviced to tighten slippage 5) Have trans serviced to tighten slippage Any combo of the above.
Car was NEVER a street car. It's a full true tube chassis race car, with a little bit of 1968 Camaro and a whole lot of fiberglass and lexan strapped on it to make it look like a 1968 Camaro. No VIN. Has a drag spool for the rear end - meaning it's just ppure solid. It's a pain to try to push it by hand, because it just won't turn. I'll take a couple of more pics. It's in my garage right now, as I have some time between races.

Answering out of order so it makes more sense.... 5) yup - good old Powerglide 1) shift at 6500 RPM, never exceeds 6500 rpm in the first 1/8th. Valve float around 6700-6900 from tired out valve springs 3) Lots of room for more meat on it. 5% bigger tire when the current pair wear out is pretty easy to do. Adds 8 mph trap. 4) Yes it does. From all other measures, I should be trapping 148-152. Hence the hunt for some solutions. FWIW: The TC is a bolt together Neil Chance unit. It will be real easy to have it serviced. I think they'll do a complete refresh for $75. The Powerglide is a Coan. Also an easy service job, as Coan happens to be about 90 minutes from my home. I'll just drive it up there after the season.
Wow, those are much better pics than we had before. Are the sticky notes to-do things? or are they labels so you know where things are at?
