Yes that feeling of it falling flat on its face went away, thanks. and I didn't touch the plugs at all. Fuel pump re-wire will happen this friday, or next.
No problem! Glad I was able to help! I am getting ready to post pictures on the rewire how-to thread. These pictures are already completed pictures but everyone will see how its done. Its really easy to do.
well when i get under her to do the rewire, i am gonna pull the bung out of the exhast and hood up my a/f ratio guage. the question i have is, i have an egt guage and probe, is there any down fall of putting it in the downpipe, for ease. i dont have the time to take off the turbo/manifold to tap it, cuz im sure thats where it should go. i dont plan on going bigger turbo anytime soon, so i wasnt sure if this would be ok, as far as a somewhat accurate reading. any input? figs? lol
Your hitting fuel cut at 18PSI due to the fact you have no fuel controller or map clamp on the STG0 ECU. A 2bar MAP can only read 18PSI and once the ECU sees that or more the stock ECU cuts fuel at 18-19PSI as a safety procaution. Stg 1 ignores the overboost condition.
2 bar maps can't read 2 bars of boost (29.4psi) because they also read negative (vacuum) but about the EGT, don't bother putting it in if you are going to put it somewhere in your downpipe.. the EGTs will be a couple 100 degrees cooler and wont give you a good idea of your actual EGTs. misewell just sell the EGT gauge if you don't wanna install it right, or just install it so you can say you have one.
I understand, that is why I took everything back like figs said. She is running good now. Any input on my previous post? Thanks in advance.
Ok cool, so the guages I bought from a friend, have never been installed and are pretty much useless for any type of tuning for the set-up I have---narrowband a/f ratio basically just a light show, fuel pressure guage, and the pyrometer. It looks good since they are all the autometer and say srt on them. But I'm not really going for looks. Lol Should I sell them? And buy a fuel return kit? Thanks. Zack. Sorry if this all is basic questions and wasting space.
you can give them all to me, and ill put them to use.. except the narrowband light show, LOL. but in all seriousness, why not try this. acquire a stock SRT manifold for cheap (since people sell them for dirt cheap), tap it, install the fitting, and when you have a chance, swap out the manifold. that way, you will have no downtime except the time it takes to swap it. fuel pressure could be useful, just in case you ever have fuel issues, you can see if there isn't enough pressure in the line real quick, instead of trying to diagnose it another way.
Actually, the stock MAP is a 2.25 bar......but, as stated before, it also includes vacuum....so, it only reads approx 1.25 bar of boost.....
