    Here is the situation:

I am currently looking at trading in BOTH of my 06' SRT8's for a Challenger. The problem is I have that BEAST of a motor in one of them, and don't wanna lose it.

    Here is my request:

I would like to know if there is anyone local that would have a stock longblock that I could "borrow" to put in my charger. I would then trade it in with your stock motor acquire the Challenger and swap out the Challenger 6.1 give THAT motor to you and put in the 426. Yes, damnit I am being a tight wad and I don't wanna spend the extra money to go out and buy a stock longblock. I am willing to travel a few hours to get this done. Thanks for reading my request.

Why don't you ask the dealership if they'll do the swap for you? They might rather have the new engine in the trade in rather than a higher liability 426.

Yea, I was thinking the same thing Snehal.

Luis, have you already been working with a dealership for the Chally?

I may be able to orchestrate something with my dealer. They have two chally's (Orange and Black) and their service department is TOP NOTCH.

Unfortunately I don't know enough about these things to think what the negatives...if there are any....would be. The only thing I could think of would be being without the car for sometime. That, and the fact I'd lose my badass "Mopar CAI". LOL

Anyone chime in on how this is NOT a great deal.

Well, it's labor-intensive and you'd be running an new PCM/TCM and everything I'd assume.

I guess I'm wondering if the "rewards" out weigh the "risks"? I don't know how tricky this process is...with the exception of the actual swapping.

Well without doing a whole bunch of quotes. It sounds like a great idea. There will be no problem with the swaps. Everything will plug and play without issue. Ya, that's a fair amount of wrenching. But the nothing that a 10-12 hour day won't fix (per paired swaps). Now I will admit I haven't done a jeep, so that may take a little longer. But I can have a LX motor on the stand in 1.5hr by myself and back in in 3hr. So if you guys are serious, and depending on timing. I'll bring all the equipment required and help out. Not like I haven't do it a few times now.

    BTW!! no hot motors!!. :)

Whoops, just realized something. Rick, you'll need a custom tune for the period your running the 426. You guys won't be able to run Luis's tune. I'm sure it's locked.

I don't think there will be any real swap. I'm sure we won't put the 426 in my car, but just wait until Luis gets the Challenger and just swap it them....providing it is around the same time! LOL

Yeah, if I let Rick have a go at my 426. I can kiss it goodbye. That crazy SOB will go bonkers with my motor.

Cam, you coming down to help with the work would be a fucking great thing !!! I have been wanting to learn how to wrench on my car. I will get my ass in gear and keep in touch with everyone.
