it hurts when you get older lol...

    Lets get to the story...

Well my wife and I decided to start rollerblading. So we both got a set of rollerblades a few days ago. Now I haven't rollerbladed in about 11 yrs but got right on them and skated like it was yesterday. When I was younger I was into BMX, Freestyling, Skateboarding but have always wanted to do Aggressive Inline Skating and never got around to doing it.

Well that all changed when I picked up the set of Rollerblades a few days ago which is Rollerblades DT4 aggressive inline skates. So I decided to get into it. Watched videos after videos these last two days.

Today, I bought a helmet and a slanted grind rail. Got home put the slanted grind rail together. Nervous of course, even set at the lowest setting. Cheryl watched as I attempted to do my first grinds on the rail. I wanted to play it safe so I set it on the grass at the edge of my driveway. First try, blades came right out from under me and I caught my fall. Second try, completely let loose and fell back unto my ass, left elbow, and right shoulder. Gave it some more tries and kept either missing, getting caught. About the 8th try I started getting it down. I was able to slide/grind halfway down the slanted grind rail. Didn't make it all the way to the 3rd section. I grinded 3-4 more times and called it a day.

My left elbow is sore as well as my right shoulder but my left elbow hurts the worst.

Its fun but man should I have done it when I was younger.

The skating part is easy... tricks... not so easy. I'm still trying to do a 360 as well.

The frontside grind and the 360 is supposely the easiest tricks to learn.

What sucks is with rollerblades you can't bail so you mess up... its going to hurt lol.

yeah fricking get old sucks.. my partner who is in his early forties and is an avid surfer, skier, rock climber etc .. takes his kid and nephew to the skate park.. he goes to show them how do a few tricks from the old days and it is working out pretty good.. until his confidence exceeds his physical agility and down he goes.. put out his arm to break his fall and snap goes the weasle... now he has a few more screws and a plate in his forearm.. I put a silver surfer on his locker.. he did not see the humor in that ..

all you young dogs can go run after this stuff... I will sit back and watch and be there for moral support..

Holy crap! I used to skateboard in college but we did qualudes first. It didn't hurt at all until the next day.

What was on the other side of that big ramp? Those flips looked like 2 and 1/2's.

Lol! Yes I am crazy. Just looking at another hobby besides cars. Not throwing it on the back burner but I would like to do other things. This being a childhood thing I never got to do. I rollerbladed back in the day but never did aggressive inline.
