I marinate my steaks with some basalmic vinegar. Makes it super tender. You only want to put a little over a spoonfull on each side and let it set a minimum of 2 hours. Then what ever other seasoning you like. I put garlic pepper, creole seasoning and a little splash of liquid smoke. And the way you cook it makes all the difference as stated above. Sear to seal in the juices and only flip once. Don't stab the meat! Use some tongs or somethin. Poking the holes lets all the juices run out. And Let it rest. I know it is hard to let a good smelling steak just sit there. But it is worth it. As far as sides go...........none. Cook up a big fat steak to fill you up. I paid for a steak not a salad. If I am still hungry after the steak, beer will sufice for filler.
i concur...you should not poke your meat hahahaha... but yeah you dont want to let all the good juices run out... good god you cant make that not sound bad....
oj, honey, lemon and garlic. throw it in a bag to marinade and let sit over night. it's great in the summer, and also works really well on chicken and pork. throw it in a bag with some oy vay teriyaki sauce and a little garlic is damn good too.
Basically as long as theres some Teriyaki flavor in the steak...im happy...any other goodness is just a bonus haha
I just start the grill, knock off the horns wipe its a$$ and throw it on the plate and theres no better taste then fresh home grown beef, 10 minutes fresh
because it takes the fun out of catching it on hores back, knocking it down and skinning it. what great is "HOME GROWN" but my dad and sister are different they cant eat it fresh it has to sit for a couple of days so the blood can drain out of it and they eat it well done not rare like me:drugs:
well...when i cook burgers and stuff on the bbq...any time my sister is around she likes hers done...and i quote..."like a hockey puck"... why even bother hhahaha
she cant even watch me and my brother eat steak cause she says she can still hear the moo's hahahaha:dunno2:
moooo mooo :good: i get the same thing from the misses except she holds up a napkin in front of her when i eat my steak :censored:
this is a thread that if i were to say the things i would like to...i'd get my azz :banned::banned: hahaha
one of my favorites for chicken is crushed red pepper, vodka, sprite, apricot and pineapple preserve, let sit over night. It works great pan fried but also on the grill. Steak I have used a lot of different things. I have a chicago style dry rub thats great when your in a hurry. But I love burbon flavored tri tip. I use Lawry's seasoning salt, fresh cracked pepper, fresh garlic and some kind of simple mesquite bbq sauce for a day or to then add the burbon for the last 24 hours.
