Help doing a turbo swap

    Hey I've never done anything like this before, I'm putting in an s3 turbofold and I just got the stock turbo out and am about to put the new one in tonight. I can't get a torque wrench back in that area. Do you reccomend I use loctite or anything like that? I want to be able to dissassemble it all if I have to in the future but obviously don't want any bolts backing out.

    I didn't use any loctite on my manifold, but gave the bolts a good tightening. 15,000 miles later, and they are all still tight.

    Also did you prime it with oil or grease or anything. I'm a little worried about first startup and the amount of time it will take oil to get to the bearings inside the spinning turbo.

    pull the fuel pump relay and crank the car over for 30 seconds or so.

    Or just disconnect the coil pack. Crank for ten seconds, stop. Crank for ten more, stop.

    Then, and this is the tricky part. Recoonect the coil. Hold onto the compressor wheel with a gloved hand, and start the car. You should only be able to hold on for a second or so, then pull your hand out real quick.

    Let the car idle for a minute. Done.
