Set a couple of new personal bests: 1/8th mile: 5.743 @ 121.69 MPH 1/4 mile: 9.115 @ 138.66 (have trapped 142.45 before) Getting closer to the elusive 8 second pass.......
Same with us. We TRY to use it on the kids' birthdays, Christmas etc etc. Damn thing cost 1500 bucks a couple years ago and we rarely use it. Probably worth less that half that now.
we have some really good still cameras....but no digital video cameras...however dads fathersday gift is a HD Video Cam so hes just gotta pick one out!.... come on JMatt...just a cheapo video camera would do for some shots of the beast running!!!!!
BTW: I'm picking up a new barrel of Methanol in the morning. It supposedly is oxygenated enough to add up to 10% more HP, and requires the jetting changes to go along with that. I'm racing Sunday morning, and really hoping it's time for an 8 second pass. I may not have enough gear to pull it off though. We'll see. If not, I'm getting a new rear end ASAP!
Rather than litter the forum with new threads, I'll just update this one from time to time. Set a bunch of new records AGAIN TODAY!!! 60': 1.235 seconds! My first trip below 1.24. Equals 1.33 G's on average over the first 60'. 1/8th time: 5.690 seconds. And I backed that up with a 5.695, 5.702, and a 5.704. I ran the 5.704 with a 5.69 dial listed on the car. But......I redlit by 0.011 seconds. Also - I went three rounds in today's bracket race in the SuperPro category, notching my first two round victories ever in this class. My prior record 1/8th was set 3 days ago and was 5.743 seconds. I've got new fuel that supposedly provides 10% more horsepower...... Bwaaaaa hahahahahhahaha!!! Testing it this Thursday. Stay tuned.
Over on the Marauder boards we have heard rumors of a 9 sec. SRT All I can say is wow! For the short time this platform has been on the market, to be going this fast is incredible. Congrats BIG TIME........... You will face some stiff competition in the Big Dog Class at the Southern Super Heavyweight Shootout should you decide to attend. Got some Impala's running low 9's/high 8's, and some Marauders that will be in the 9's this year. "Will be" is way different than already there tho. Congrats again! Mike
Ummm....errrr......well...... I think the prior poster skimmed over too many posts. I'd love to see the rumored 9 second LX as well. I'm pretty sure I know what a 10 second LX is like, but I'm also pretty sure a 9 second LX won't happen without going on a 1,000 pound diet and using a different drivetrain, which pretty much removes it from being an LX. Of course, I readily admit my "1968 Camaro" is really only a "Camaro" because that's what the original builder decided to make this car look like. I think there's about 200 pounds of actual Camaro, and 2250 pounds of tube chassis race car sitting underneath. LOL.
Well if you weren't such a wuss, you could'a built a 9 sec LX. Might have cost you more then the camaro..........but hell it's all in the name of the sport. Right Matt. BTW, congrats on your kick ass times. :worthy:
You are right I skimmed..............Sure looked like there was a bonafide 9 sec. claim........ my bad. That said a 10 second 4door American made hot rod is still rarified air. You will have competition though if you decide to make the trek to Commerce, GA the beginning of November. The Impala's are running in the high 8's and 9's, but look at how much time they have had to get there, and the ones that are there, are not really streetable for long periods of time anyways. They do have some very streetable SS's in the 10's though. Also, there are only 3-4 Marauders I know of in the 10's that have a shot for low 10's/9's...... The weight issue........ Same for Marauders as SRT's. Mike
