Lets try to use this thread as a reference/help on the AGP WGA.

So I'll start with my question(s)...

What rate of spring does the AGP wga have?

Is it worth it upgrading the spring to say the spring PTP sells as an "upgrade" and supposely holds more?

u should know this it will never hold more than 16 psi at red line on the stock turbo so its not really worth it unless u cant get the spike u want but if your using the blue rice plate than its worth getting the upgrade spring the stock surge valve spring is only 4lbs and the upgrade is 8lbs it helps alot from getting a leaks from the surge valve

Just starting a discussion on the subject as I know there will be more threads as there has been already a couple/few. I've noticed the spring on the AGP seems to be weaker the some of the others. No blue plate here... its in storage collecting dust lol. It was kicked to the curb when I got my HKS SSQV.

I'm thinking its more of a 12lb spring in the AGP but will need someone who knows to clarify. I am currently running the AGP and it does not hold the suppose 15lbs people claim to hold till redline. This could be the case if they are spiking 20-22 I guess. I've seen it drop around the 10-12psi range and the car has ZERO boost leaks. This is with a 17psi spike.

u know what i think you are right about the 12lbs and the ptp is 14 cause when i had the ptp i was spiking 20 and holding 16 at 6500rpm

One thing I have noticed though if you use the supplied bleeder from AGP that its a boost leak. Now people are going to say "DUH". But I see people complain about the suppose stock "factory" boost leak... the line that runs to the intake in which most people just cap off. But if your running the supplied bleeder... that's just another boost leak. The way I verified this is by doing a boost leak test when I had one installed. It does do what it says... "bleeds boost".

I'm currently not using the bleeder FYI.

Yeah, I think I made the mistake of going from my PTP one I used to have to the AGP. Just trying to see if/what I can do to be happy with this WGA. Not knocking it or bashing it as MANY locals are running it and I thought it would be a better option at the time when I was running the PTP. The PTP seemed to hold a lot more and hit harder. The AGP doesn't seem like a bad WGA, just takes time to get used to it.

i loved my ptp when i was stock turbo and the bleeder is for boosting more than what the spring is rated for ant tighten down to, the S3 AGP comes with a bleeder but its weaksause for needing one to boost to like 27 psi if its gets there

I'm going to keep my car (S1+bolt-ons) around 17psi spike and tune it now that I have an SAFC in the car. Was going to put the s2/s3 injectors I have and run around 19psi spike but was unsure on the results as far as power. Either it gains or loses... unsure :dumb:. So many threads and all have different opinions/conclusions/results.

My wife's car is running the S3 AGP wga on PCM controlled boost no bleeder. DAB 3 is set to 26-27 spike. I think (if I recall) it drops to around 21.

had a buddy of mine running a S3 turbo on a stock pcm and we could not get it to spike 27 even with the bleeder with the S3 agp wga so i modded his agp stock turbo wga to fit the S3 and it works good now without the bleeder

Lol, I could rename it to that if need be but its a general thread for anyone to chime in on. Just Chris and I so far in this thread... I know there's more AGP wga owners out there :shifty:. Even future owners, people thinking about it, some who know about them. Anyone is welcome to share or discuss on the matters. My (2) questions were just to get this thread started. There's a lot more out there.

i have just bought one i havn't put it on yet, because my car is still having clutch issues.

My questions are how bad is the PTB with this WGA?

Will the MBC fix this so I wont have to deal with this problem?

I have an AGP and its not that bad at all, but the bleeder mod is what is making that possible. :king:
