Well... I *think* it's a 1" wrench. Those buggers seem to have a tendency to sort of weld themselves in there so they can be tough to break loose. You have more room to work with on the drivers side than the passenger side. The cable is permanently attached to the top so you can't get a box end on it. You should be able to do it with an open end or channel locks but they make a special wrench just for that. It looks like a box end with one section cut out of it and it has a hinge near the socket on the handle. The cutout is so you can get it over the cable and slide it down on the sensor.

Whenever you put a sensor back in use anti-seize on the threads but be sure not to get it on the end of the sensor.

[edit] Oops... I have no idea where they're at on a Neon

An O2 sensor socket, a ratchet, and some WD-40.

But you need a stubby one like this, not a deep well...it'll never fit.

If you're ever going to use it on other cars you might consider one with a flex head like this. Sometimes you don't have a straight shot at the sensor. I suppose a flex head ratched would do the same thing in most cases. haha, and you might get both a 12 point for those really tight spaces and a 6 point for the really stuck ones.
