Anybody up for it. Test and tune night. Gates open at 4:00pm, racing 6-10. I'm heading out at 3:00am Friday morning, hitting up a local dyno shop up there and putting the final touches on my WOT's and seeing what she'll do.
Damn, there's a car show in Fremont that day, that I might be able to go to with the baby...maybe some other time, Cam.
Oh a Friday...yeah..no way..I'd have to take the baby and she's not quite track ready yet... :baby: The Fremont thing is the day after..
i wouldnt get a tune done by anyone in sacto. check out these two places on your trip up dude, both are top notch. i used them when i had my lsx driven rides. http://newtechperformance.com/ http://www.synergymotorsports.net/
Im in! For Shizzles Cam. You can etch it in stone, With the weather/DA there having Id be a fool not to.
I like SVS in Sacramento. They are a CMR tuner and I've had a good experience with them. Have you tried them? There is also Ditos in South San Francisco. A friend of mine got a pretty good tune from them.
Well Bob at SVS is a buddy. And of all the tuners out there, he is one of three I would trust to tune my car. Mike at Inertia has worked his ass off dialing in my part throttle and she's a beast. But I need to complete the WOT, so Bob's gonna be the man if he has time. Also, I find your statement a little odd. Bob has tuned a few rides. And since he's not a vendor here, I'd like to hear more about this.
ask around norcal forums. no one will use him because of many issues from overcharging for dyno sessions to blowing motors. or you could just go to sac raceway with a svs tag and see how many people come up to you. the main problem i think is the fact he has no competition for business up there. that is why when i lived in sacto, i went to the bay for tuners.
Interesting. I have known Bob for a couple years now. I have always found him fair and honest. I've also ran into guys at Sac that know and work with the shop and have nothing bad to say about him. But that means nothing, it's not like I'm a local track groupy. I have one hell of a mechanical backround. And around these forums, I can honestly say that there are only a 1/2 dozen guys that I accept/allow/put (what ever) any credence towards their opinion. And talking with Bob always leaves me walking away impressed. Well anyhow, thanks for the heads up and I'll take my chances.
All my work is done by them. My car is in thier hands at the moment and I completly trust them. I always get very fair prices and match me on any deal I find. Robert the owner was so excited to see what kinda number my car would make on the spray so he bought 10 gallons of race gas and paid for the bottle to be fillled so he could do all the tuning. so more or less I got the nitrous tune for free. To Bad I am all motor now
In the three years I have had SVS work on my car, including a rock solid motor build and just about everything you could think of adding to an LX, including custom parts fabrication, that is the first negative word I have ever heard about SVS or Bob. If it was any different he would not have pretty much the exclusive lock on my business. I have dozens of pulls on their dyno, and I know a thing or two about market rates for such things. No overcharging there. A lot of LX'rs out there have had them work on their cars since they started in on them in '05. Nothing but praise until this one post.
I thought DynoSteve just tuned your car John? So is Bob retuning it, or do you feel Steve did a better job with his email tune than Bob did on the Dyno?
