OK so my Chally left Illinos on weds after sitting at a holding facility for a few days, I was given a website and code number to track it live as it was moving across America. So as most of you know I cant sit still for 5 mins, Ive been able to see when this guy stops, where he stops off the highway, where he sleeps, When he's on the move or when he's not, And I must say this Truckers hauling A$$. He's stop'd for both the last 2 nights to sleep I would assume, Today he made 2 off the highway stops, 1 at a warehouse in the middle of no where and the other in Arizona City, I thought he was down for the night, but he just when active again, this guy just past Jr, and Meisters neighborhood and He's heading to the friggin border!!!! My phone is suppose to ring when they hit the border. Im tripp'n. Heres the latest movement.

That must really suck for the truck driver. He can't go sight seeing, he can't speed, he can't drive straight through so he gets an extra day off at home (or elsewhere). I suppose most of them have to put up with that these days.

I seriously doubt it. Used to be done with a written log book. Not sure what the regulations are now days but it used to be you were only allowed to drive 10 hours without an uninterrupted 8 hour break. They also strongly "recommended" a couple of breaks within a 10 hour stretch. Depending on whether your company operated 7 days a week or not you were limited to 15? on duty (driving and working like loading/unloading) hours a day and x? hours in a sliding 12? day window. So lets say you lived in Columbus, OH. You could run out of hours in Indianapolis and have to take a 2 day layover before driving the rest of the way home...

Some companies put wheel hub odometers on the tractors and trailers. Primarily for maintenance but also used to check if drivers were staying on route. Some companies would "encourage" drivers to see if they could make this delivery or that which really couldn't be done by the book. Most companies pushed the rules until they drew too much attention from the DOT. But one of the big advantages to driving shipper to consignee, non regulated, irregular route freight was managing your own time and routes. I would guess that these days a lot of companies are putting GPS tracking in company equipment.

    Its dependable auto shippers, http://www.dasautoshippers.com
I have a feeling its going to a dist center nearby and it will be brought over on a smaller rig, The guy hasnt driven straight for more then 10 hrs, The reason I said haulin ass is cause he hasnt really gone very far off a direct route to my house. Not more then like 10 miles of the highway 2 times, right now he's sleeping on the side of the road, I know excatly where, right off of West Indian School road and North 411 Ave, he's on the side of the road in the dirt I assume sleeping, Ill know whats up in the morning as he's usually off and running by 8 am.
