Well what a night. cherbear, my wife, ran the car first.
    She got 14.7 @ 94 with a 60' of 2.396
On her return to the line I got in the car to move it forward to realize the front driver side tire was flat. Well I got a bit upset because I was wanting to run the car next.
Lucky for us our friends Frank and Amanda, had a steelie with a tire on it. We lifted up the car, put the steelie in the back and the SRT-4 rim in the front and we did 4 more passes.
    My best pass was 14.6 @ 97 with a 60' of 2.341

I was looking for atleast a 13.9, been wanting to hit 13's. Still on stock KDW tires and I didn't adjust the pressure. I just went there on daily street form. Need to get the 60' down.

Need to develop a technique. This was the 2nd time at the track with this car.

Great times for being new to the track...yeah, get the 60' down under 2.0 and you will see high 13s...the car proved it's capable of 13s..up to the driver now..:thumb:

Thanks! I need to work on the suspension as well as get better tires. Traction bars seem to be a must too. Now I need the track driver mod. I think it will come with practice. Just need to get out more to the track.

I know what little tricks to do for rear wheel drives but I know nothing about FWD tips.......other than one that is true for both..Practice, practice, practice, practice, practice, practice, practice, practice, practice and practice........after you do this then practice, practice, practice, practice, practice, practice, practice, practice and practice....:eek:k:

first things first.....get good tires(no pun intended) i mean make sure you have both tires the same up front, then try lowering the front pressure just a little, you don't have to go crazy low like 13psi, you're not running slicks but get them down to about 22-24 psi, also, raise the rear pressure, it sounds retarded but it helped me out, i had my rear set at around 60psi when i ran my best time. it should help at least a little even with street tires,
on KDWs i launched at around 2500 rpms, KDWs tend to spin a lot more freely than the Khumos i have now, that should help. what mods do you have again?

you don't need sub 2.0 60's to hit high 13s, i ran 13.9s bone stock with a 2.3 60', and a 13.6 modded again with a 2.3 60'. i know jesus has about the same mods that i have, there's no reason why he shouldn't be hitting mid 13s, it just takes practice.

    Lol yeah the KDWs suck!

Thanks for the pointers! I'm going to try that out next time. The tires in the front were the same. We put the steelie in the back. I heard about raising the pressure in the back but was not sure about that. Thanks for clearing that up. I was debating on launching at 2k with the KWD's. I should have. I was doing launches at 1500rpms.

yeah from what it sounds like(engine/performance mod wise), you should be netting mid 13s. try launching it at 22-2500rpms trust me.....enything lower than 2k you'll bog, even with KDWs i found that for me personally, 2500 was just about right, but.....don't go WOT right away, wait till you feel the tires start to hook a little then mash it......
    use the force.........lol

I will definately try the higher launch next time around and work with the tire pressure. I think my problem is a have a foot made of concerete. I need to learn to give gas with ease at the inital start instead of creaming the gas pedal lol.

I'm going to use your techniques next time :good:
