Another Brake Pad Question

    Hello All,

    Long time reader, first time poster. I’ve got to say I’ve enjoyed pouring through your threads on the forum learning what I can. I just picked up a used 2007 300C SRT with about 14000 on the clock. I’m getting that squeal from the rear pads and am trying to find some replacements. I don’t plan on any track runs at this time so I don’t want to pop for Red or Yellowstuffs. I found Monroe Dynamic pads for a good price on the web. Anyone have experience with these?

    I appreciate your thoughts.

    Welcome to the "C". Glad you finally joined. hehe

    14K miles? Great find. You should still have the factory warranty, so I would suggest you have the pads replaced for free from the dealer.

    There is a TSB out there for squeeky brakes.

    Ok, back to the drawing board.

    I think HHP, BMC, Sharadon, Moesperformance, RDP (?), PPP and our other vendors may carry ceramic pads. Give them a shout.

    i don't know if they make them for your car, but i would look into porterfield pads. great pads, good stopping power, not too much dust, and no squeeking. not all that expensive either.

    Centric Posi Quiet pads from Zechausen are really popular choice that will give you o.k. (not as good as stock) stopping power with hardly any brake dust and will last you FOREVER. I paid around $200 for them....when I had them.

    I have the centric posi quiets as well but got them from rockauto.com for half the price. Brake dust is reduced as well. As far as stopping power is concerned, IMHO they arent all that different from the stock pads. Maybe because I havent really gotten on them all that much yet.

    yeah...... not quite as good stopping power.....about THREE FEET difference.....:bigwink:

    careful, you might rile up the guy who posted above you.....hehehehehehhe (inside joke)!!!

    i also have the posi-quiets and find them to be a very good pad for dust, good stopping power, and zero noise!! only issue i ever see is that when cold, they do not work well!!! takes a little warmth to get into them before they really work well!!! just my opinion!!!
