I got an altemiter and had some bussiness in Irwindale so i stopped by the drag strip and measured the altitude at the starting line and finish line. I stayed 20 min at each place to get an avg.
Starting line.....383 ft above sea level
Finish line........375 ft above sea level
avg it out........379 ft above sea level

The weather station i use says its 420 ft above sea level at the point of where it takes the readings which is about 1 mile frome the drag strip so i guess it about right lol.

At my last dyno run we made a pull about 10 min after another pull to see how much hp i lost from heat soaked and it was 6 hp. I checked my all my runs where i hot lapped within 15 to 30 min of each other and i lose about 5-7 hundredths. So i went to my racing calulator and at my race weight of 5090 it takes about 1 hp to gain or lose .01 hundredth ET. So it looks about right on my JEEP. All the runs i ckecked were at diff altitudes but all were about the same in lose of ET after a hot lap.

Hey Jim, did the dyno run help sort out the issue you had last thursday?
BTW - do you know what the accuracy of your altimeter is? Usulally there is some variance in the measurement.

Yes Scott found some issues in the fule and timing he didnt like.I looked at all my dyno runs and my 1st time in feb the DA at the shop was 900ft 2nd time in may it was 1600 ft and this last time in july it was 2211 ft. On my 1st pull we were down 6 hp so Scott made some adjustments and tweaking and we ended up at 361.07 hp and 376.98 tq. As far as the car shuting down at about 150 ft b4 the finish line we think it was all about the abs fuse i pull and the car went into limp mode. So next time out ill try it with the fuse in but t/c off then next run ill pull the fuse again to see if theres any diff in the 60', ET AND MPH.
As far as the altimeter accuracy im not sure but the weather station i use says at the spot it takes the reading at (live oak ave & 605 frw) which is 1 mile from the drag strip its 420 ft and the track info i got says 380 so the altimeter is close.
