BMC Performance: Install of Vortech Supercharger on SRT8U

Thanks! I like to get to know new kits like this VERY well so when a customer calls, I will have a good idea what they are struggling with and can help them remotely. I think I put the blower and bracket in the car about 5 ways last night to see the best way to do it and I'll probably be writing a BMC addendum to the instructions that Vortech sends.

 

We worked some more on the car last night ... and I decided to leave the stock fuel rails and plugs so that we can compare a true stock set-up like this to a slightly modified one later, and compare fuel flow and some other things. I also left the blue silicone pieces for the stock look as well, but those will be swapped out with black ones when we do phase 2. So, everything is done except the air filter and putting the bumper and body parts back on! Believe it or not, I am still waiting on one more part, but once we have that later today, it will be all of 5 minutes to finish this up!! I can't wait to hear that Vortech whistle on the SRT8U!

Oh, I know ... Vortech is the best sounding supercharger on the planet! I have 3 other ones (S-trim, T-trim, YSi-trim) and Vortech is music to my ears!

Awe, no love for JM? I've been a fan of his for 10 years and met him a number of times including when his team gave us passes to be in his pit box for a race where he happened to win ... and we went to Victory Lane with the team at their request. I have a pic of me holding his trophy with the car, team, etc. The #12 team was very good to us like that on a few occasions, so I'm a fan for life. He's one of the nicest guys out there, and I hope he gets back in a car soon!

 

Totally agree! That is part of phase 2.

 

I have all sorts of other parts sitting here to go on but decided to just do a stock install for a manual addendum I'm putting together and then go back through and change the set-up a bit.

Our Mopar Meet is at the shop tomorrow and then once Kris gets to drive her for a while and enjoy the new whistle and power, we'll get going on Phase 2!
