how much of a weight savings do you get if you install a cat back corsa vs. stock.it might be doing the exhaust just for the weight savings if there is any. how about replacing our cats with high flows?? any weight savings there??

    thanks guys

looks like someone got bitten by the speed bug! lol my guess would be that CORSA might be heavier, since its a well built stainless unit. the high flow cats have to save somw weight though, maybe 10lbs?

I gaurantee you wouldn't notice a difference in power because of weight....more free flowing exhaust, maybe.....

    Maybe 20 pounds total savings.

Perhaps .01 - .02 in the quarter mile.

Even I couldn't rationalize exhaust based on weight savings.

20 pounds is less then 1% of the total weight of the car itself.....I'm not even sure you would see those numbers in the 1/4....

In our power to weight range, each 10 pounds equals .01 seconds.

Regardless, it's not a good rationale for getting the exhaust.

If you lose 300 pounds, you'll pick up three tenths. And maybe some chicks, too.

I'm glad Matt cleared that up, I've been told numerous things bout wt. vs. et and I always went by aprox. 1/10 per 100 lbs, thanks Matt!! (if that's not incentive enough for me to lose weight I don't what is, lol!)

I agree with Matt, maybe 20 lbs if you're lucky. I don't know exactly the dif but I have to say hauling my Mopar/Corsa catback down to my mechanic was not fun, two boxes and they weren't lightweights that's for sure! I can't imagine the stock setup being much heavier. Maybe the "suitcase", anyone who's removed that know how much it weighs???

I heard from Tamara about 30 lbs lost when going to Zoomers on her Charger but that was a hunch. Still though, I am also interested in empirical data for the same performance reasons.

somebody got an old system they can weigh??? i am willing to weigh my corsa when it comes in. or i may just call corsa with the weight. they claim on their website that it is 70lbs shipping weight. so this maybe 60-65 lbs of actual exhaust weight minus packaging. i think

The suitcase alone (stock system resos) weighs 40 lbs I was told... have to research it on LXforums as its been so long since I went shopping for exhaust...
