I had the opportunity to speak with a representative of The Mopar Club of San Diego at the JBA car show in San Diego today (Sunday) and he encouraged all of us newer generation Mopars to show for the following event. He said last year there were a decent amount of newer Mopars, but this year, they want ALOT! He mentioned that there have been rumors that the 'classic Mopar' folks don't 'like' us newer generation folks... he said that is complete BS, and he was one of a few guys that approached me that said the same thing! Proceeds support "Homefront San Diego" a charity that serves our military and their families. All American Car Show X Sponsored by the Mopar Club of San Diego. When: Saturday July 12, 2008 At: 8:00am-2:30pm Where: Westfield Plaza Camino Real in Carlsbad (west of Sears) Go to www.moparclubsandiego.org for more information! I'm not organizing this, just passing this information along. But... consider this thread an informal sign-up so you can meet for caravans, etc.
Sounds like it would be a blast. Yea, who ever starts rumors such as that are true azzhats... I can say that the Mopar Club here in NM absolutely LOVES the Modern Mopar scene. And those who do not (very small percentage) don't know what they are missing... lol Have fun guys and show them old schoolers who has the REAL power. hehe
Why wouldn't an older Mopar guy like the new gen Hemi guys? sheesh. That's bullsh*t rumors. Every old-school guy I've met has taken an immediate interest in my car at every track event I've been to.
lmao no matter what crowd u go to your alkways gonna have a few that dis like the modern cars.....like the hard core classic muscle car guys. but it been my experince that most the older mopar guys are pretty cool. i know when i was in colorado with my club cosrtoc at an event called mopars at thunder mountain alot of the older crowd came up asking about are neons and the caliber. can we get an address to that shopping center please. i just moved back and dont know where shit is. i will for sure go
Great bunch of guys in that club. I'm already signed up for it... hopefully I'm not working that day.
then the local mopar club just be a lot different then it was last year. i do not know if the same people are running it, but it used to be if it was not a restored a, b , or e bodyed mopar you were a second class piece of shit (this i can speak of from experience). but maybe the club has changed. if anyone is serious i believe i know where the club has its meetings, we should all go to one and see how we are treated.
I think 'our' vehicles will have their own parking area for this... segregation for organization or for club preferences? Who knows. We did get the invite and its for a good cause regardless. As for being second class... if that's how we get treated, well then that changes future events for sure. I should have my car back, and maybe we can install the KW's by then... time will tell.
My buddy with his SRT10 truck has been a member with them for a while and I have been to a couple of shows with them.. Never a problem and they treated us well. There are a few who will "rag" on you for not having a "real" Mopar, but just in fun.
Don't get me wrong, I'd own a 68-69 Roadrunner in a heartbeat... but I still wouldn't give up my bad ass baby.
I would have gone down but my car will be getting torn apart for some new pistons and a new cam sorry guys
NO...unfortunately I HAVE to go to Thailand for 3 weeks and stay in a beach side resort and get paid extra to do it. DAMN the luck! :usflag:
