This thread is to inform all RV owners of a refrigerator recall, the brand name is Dometic, there are over 96,000 that are recalled, most RV owners have not been notified due to the way the recalls are done, it is done by notifying the ORIGINAL purchaser, none there after, as the case with us, we were not the original purchaser so we were not notified, and the end results were this A total loss, the motor home burned in about 20 minutes, our great neighbors helped us out by fighting the fire with garden hoses until RRFD arrived to put out the rest, there is nothing left inside This is a shot of the interior, what you see to the left is what is left of the refrigerator, not much. PLEASE take the time to check your serial numbers against the Dometic refrigerator recall notice. Good god Dave, that sucks. I remember you telling me you had a fire in the motorhome, but did not realize it was that bad. WOW! Good thing it happened at home and not while you and the family were on vacation in it.
Yep, we were thinkin about a fishing trip the next weekend Fire Marshall said it was minutes from exploding, they said the sides were buldged out, we were not home, had just left 15 minutes before, and I had just been in the Motor Home at that time, and found nothing wrong or any smell that would have tipped me off to a fire. It is a 1988 Motor Home with just 40K on it , BUT this recall covers units built up to 2006 Thanks, me too
