Haven't heard about the LT1 radiators. DRKNE55 has a good idea about joining a local F-Body club. LS1Tech.com has a wealth of information available too.

just called nick, he thought for a sec that i bought it and was stoked to get his hands into it. he called it a robust setup...and this is coming from a guy who runs 9s all day in his DD. :bigwink:

he recommended totally staying away from the lt1 radiator and that it was a common mistake to run those instead of the factory radiator. he said to just buy a new radiator for the ls1, 160 degree thermo, new water pump and water wetter. with the cam you have, he said you could get as much as 32mpg highway. he built a z06 with the same mods and the owner was getting 32 regularly.

he called the cam a nice choice, not too crazy but just right.

hope this helps...judging from his voice on the phone, i would def go snap that car up.

Cool. The car was done at Carolina Automasters.Sounds like they did a nice job
setting up the car.So IYO the car running a little warm is not that uncommon with the mods it has?? Thanks again for your help..

we all run pretty warm, im sure you will especially since its so hot in your area.

i would do what he recommended, new factory radiator, etc, etc. then your temps will cool off pretty significantly, especially since hes running an old radiator.

well, i would replace mine just because if i were having heat issues. though there is always a better route.

if i had about a grand, here is what i would do:

Be Cool Radiator for 6 speed
    Meziere 300 electric water pump
    new hoses upper and lower
2 or 3 bottles of water wetter (no coolant)

that will have you running much cooler in your hot climate.

Definitly.. Funny I have been eyeing that radiator:grin:..Hmm The heating issue started after those mods were done.. I do know when timing is an issue"to retarded" that effects heating. But I know thats not the case.. Now its nothing serious but in warmer climate heavey traffic it creeps up there..
