I'll only be confident once I learn to launch her properly. I was a bit cocky when she was basically stock, but she'll be a new animal now. Also, I've NEVER run my car at the track... I like the idea, but I've just never have gotten around to getting fired up and then actually doing it. Plus, I don't consider myself a race-driver what so ever. I know Drew went sideways and nearly hit the barrier at the Q with just catback, hiflows and cai... to me, that's risky, especially with another 90+ rwhp. We'll have to wait and see how I'm able to drive her. Regardless, I'm not in competition with anyone with this car... I just want to enjoy her again on the streets of San Diego.
"IF" I could have afforded it right now I would have jumped on it....but I couldn't. So, I'll take the hit later so I'm not leaving the family with change in case an emergency happens. I really need to test drive a few vehicles to see what "feels" best to me. I don't ever intend on going out of my way to go to a drag strip. If I'm already at something like the Spring Fling then yes. I just want a power adder that is safe, and I'll feel like I "spent" my hard earned money on. We'll see what happens. What is going to get me from a to b faster....a Vortech blower with a good tune, or a Stage II package with a good tune??? They'll both be around the same price. I can forge the internals for around 3k right? What does it take to add extra boost....pulleys, water meth injection????
adding boost after the bottom end is done is easy tune and pulley. I will be having mine tuned without the meth and then still running the meth for saftey. Im not looking to be the fastest/highest hp/cutting edge but to be quick enough to be happy and safe. I spoke to the guys at Vortech and supposedly this head unit will flow enough to support 800hp. If we want he mentioned a trade in program for a T trim which should handle 1200-1400
