I know a roots style blower will blow a centrifugal blower throughout the rpm range. I know Jason, Ryan, and Drew won't be adding any boost for a LONG time to come....or a proper tune for that matter. So, I was thinking that I "might" not have to get a roots style blower to whoop'em in a straight line. If I get an HHP Stage II package (minus the converter) with a mid rpm cam, and throw in a tune by DynoSteve or someone "almost" as good (LOL) I'm curious what the track times would be between the two.

"IF" the HHP package and tune would be as fast, or faster....I could feed my ego here around Eastlake AND allow me to do the road racing mods I plan to do!

    Thoughts? :beerchug:

Well DVSSRT8 has the HHP/BES Stage II package, and he has ran 11.7.s NA. That said and your superior driving skills will probably give you a 3 to 4 car advantage Rick.

The Vortech supercharger with only 5lbs. of boost is probably going to be a bit slower than the HHP/BES stage II package...now with more boost than it should be quicker. Also DynoSteve's tunes are badass....my car is screamin' right now. Bring those low boost Vortech's on!!!!!!LOL

Well the huffer is gonna pull a little harder down low but the HHP package will not give up anything up top. Now the advantage is going to go to the HHP package. Tuning will be so much easier without any of the drama involved with the blower. Plus, IMO, there is much less of a chance of popping the motor.

YEEEEESSSS!!!!!! There is a God!! Suck on that Momo, Ryan, and Drew!!!

J/K....I really just want to be able to do the needed preventative road racing things for my car (Tranny/PS coolers, extra tires and pads, bushings?...etc) Stand by Cam...I'll be bugging you a lot in the months to come.

Oh yeah....beating the three stooges is also a little important...who am I kidding! LOL

EDIT: This isn't intended for John, Adam, or Ralph....cause I know they are going to forge and crank the boost in no time!!

I think you'd win Rick, but still wouldn't be the fastest SRT8 in San Diego. Ralph is going to blow us all away when his ride is done.

don't undercut the efficiency of a centrifugal sc. I know many people putting on different platforms roots vs. screw vs. centrifugal and the centrifugal lb vs lb has won many times.

Now do not get me wrong, a positive displacement blower will give you amazing low end, but often fall flat when the centrifugal is in it's sweetspot.

All this depends on as long as the psi is running the same is driver and tune.

Oh...I know this!! But, this is purely the Three Stooges on 5 lbs of boost against me....NOT a debate on which blower is better etc!!

If it even becomes close...I'll break down and get a roots blower!!! I'll probably flip flop ten times before I pull the plug in December (when I can spend 12.5 K on whatever). The one thing I can't seem to find is a dyno of a roots (RDP...since their the only ones right now) blower with a stock 6.1. Someone???

Rick, just because of this thread, my next goal is a forged bottom end, upping the boost, and if need be, a 2 stage 175 shot you SOB! I'll sell my soul for half shafts and DRs. THAT'S IT! You'll always whoop my curly ass on the twisties, but I gotta stake my claim on the straight. If this costs me my marriage...

I'm gonna do it... someway, somehow... don't doubt Momo... remember, I'm the same guy who just 3 weeks ago had a basically stock Charger SRT8... and will soon be rollin' with about 600 ponies, V-Tires, KWs and some sweet chromed oem wheels.

And, to add insult to injury, when you're on your trip, I'm gonna install some big ass vinyl decals on your hood scoop, all crooked and shit like only I could fuck up! LMAO!

Whatever turd! You've already sold your soul at the crossroads!! I ain't skeered!!! :baby:

EDIT: you're looking at your Momo's going bling right now....I'll suck your dick if you forge your bottom end anytime before 2010!!!!

In all honesty... with nearly 360 rwhp, I don't know if I'm gonna go further anytime soon... at least not until half shafts, etc., are reasonable purchases for me (car's paid off, etc.).

All in all, she was one of the faster cars around before the blower... afterwards she'll just jump up in the ranks a good bit. I have to learn to be at least somewhat satisfied, otherwise my marriage will be in a perpetual state of turmoil.

I consider myself VERY lucky to have gotten what I'm getting... its about 100% more than I ever thought I'd ever have done to the car.

But Rick, thanks for making me feel insufficient before I even get the car back... asshole! LMAO!
