    This should stir the muck...

You all are likely aware of my string of good luck with performance mods as of late. So, considering that my performance mod days are drawing to a close for the foreseeable future... for the first time in my car-related life I'm considering some visual/comfort mods that aren't expensive until I can weasel some sways and a rear STB... forged bottom end, half shafts, quaife...

Now, none of this is going to happen NOW (maybe ever), but I am curious as to some stuff to look into; I'm kind of taking the approach of gradually piecing together a complete SRT8, performance, comfort & visual.

I really am proud of my car and I want her to perform and look her best without looking cheesy.

Here are my ideas, none of which are concrete:

    1. Padded arm rest (@$65)
    2. Braided hoses (@$40)
    3. BT engine stuff (@$136 for full set of caps)
    4. DIY tinted tails - just a tad darker than stock (don't worry, Drew will help me do it - @$25)

*already ordered the 6.1 HEMI emblems

How 'bout a 5-point harness? The ones where you can still use the regular belt. Makes your car look pretty serious.

It sounds as if you are on the right track Jason. Nice.

Just don't over do it man. Most of the time, LESS is better. lol

Oh, and NEVER, EVER use Drew's painter if you get to that point. lol

Yes, they're functional. Someone had pics up and there was some discussion of a couple of brands/models that use the existing points so you don't have to add them. I think it was someone with a new roll cage? Maybe JMatt?

Never used those. I would imagine that they are not going to be as comfortable for daily driving. I (and you) have floor mats to replace when they're worn. The really functional purpose of the heel plates is that it's a good idea to remove your floor mats when driving competitively/aggressively. You screw the heel plates down directly over the carpet. Always disconcerting when your floor mat gets pushed forward and jammed up in the pedals... They do look nice (competition race car look) but it would look silly over floor mats (you'd get laughed at).

That's my thinking. I have an unusual urge to do something to make her look even more nice... but not too sure what. This 'look' concept is more foreign to me than the performance aspects of the car.

Braided hoses do look good and they're functional (I was told stronger).

I want to keep it simple, but just a bit nicer than stock... without 'clutter'.

Ron, BTW: Drew's painter graduated from 5th grade and no longer participates in class projects.

A five point harness would look gay..sorry but unless you 'need' one...um no.

Does Drew's painter guy suck that bad? lol.

There was a thread on here about painted/tinted charger tail lights. IMO, they look the way the tail lights should have looked to begin with. Let me see if I can find it again...

I saw that thread on LX forums, that's what gave me the idea. Its a DIY mod. Thread had instructions and options, step by step. Its a spray, like a spray paint, called "VHT Nightshades" and you can make the tails as dark as you want (I'm going on the light side, with the reverse lights taped-off).

    Here's the link: http://www.lxforums.com/board/showthread.php?t=49605

If my name was Ryan, I'd do it.

Wow. That's professional stuff Ron. Drew and I have the canned stuff. The thread I posted above... apparently, it worked very well.

I don't want my tails as dark as the GC tails... I want more of a smoked look... nearly stock looking, but with a hint of shading to blend more with the silver exterior of... I just thought of something... my car needs a name...

Anyway... yeah, with Drew's help and general expertise in just about anything, they should turn out great.

I would stick to the plan of not going to dark. Tamara had to replace hers when she got a ticket. I "think" she had another set.

So what else folks? Give me some more ideas to choose from. So long as they're relatively inexpensive. I know that's subjective, but throw some ideas my way.

Part of me wants something that signifies supercharged, for the interior where only I will enjoy it, and others will be surprised when I'm WOT.

I'm just throwing ideas out there...

One idea I talked with Drew about was the trunk lid. I'm thinking of putting a plexiglass piece up there and placing stickers from my mods onto it... I know its gay, but at least no one other than me will see it.

I hear that. I don't want to attract undue attention and I don't want to look 'gangsta' either.

BTW: if you are interested, I bought 2 cans of the spray... I'll only be using a coat or two from one can (Drew is getting the other) so we can shade yours too with the other 1/2 of mine.

I say screw it Jason. Add about 8 SRT emblems and stickers all around the car, including the big over done one on the front windshield. I would advertise Vortech, KW's, SRT floor mats, and of course "Vredestiein" at least in 2 locations. And have Drew's painter spray paint a big Mopar stencil on the roof!!!
