Ron had to go to El Paso today to do about 2 hours of work, and since I had the day off, I grabbed my camera and rode along.... On the way down, we noticed that we where being "shadowed"!! And, was reminded why I do not like Texas.... The motorcycle looked like a scooter!!! For those of you who have not been to Southern New Mexico... I took some shots of the scenery....
wow maureen, that all looks so familiar!!! hahahaha especially that shot of the cones forcing traffic on I-10 into the weigh station to check for "passengers"!!! heheehehe i remember when i was driving out to spring fest how funny that was that as soon as i crossed into new mexico they pulled over traffic!!! lol
Great pics Maureen...all except the one with Ron in it! That cop on the bike is the product of too many Hatch green chilli chicken enchiladas with a fried egg on top! MMmmmmm
Rick, that was the funniest thing I had ever seen. Really, the cop was not all that fat, rather the bike was that small. lol
Glad you like the shots I got! It was fun!! :thanks: Chris... That border patrol checkpoint is actually on I-25.... Just goes to show that ALL of New Mexico looks pretty much the same! Pretty much everything south of the Albuquerque airport!! Rick.... So you are saying that Texas cops have traded donuts for green chili chicken enchilladas??!!! What's the world coming to??!!:bigwink:
Great pics! When you saw the cop did you roll down the window, point and laugh while making 1" measurement gestures with your fingers?
More cool pics Maureen. Keep it up. Maybe we'll take some on the way to Yuma tomorrow. Do you have a haze filter? I'm going to get one pretty soon.
Awww...That's home. That little scooter would still catch up to you and give you a ticket. He did look kinda funny though.
haha That Scooter wouldn't be able to catch up to me, the radio certainly would. haha I thought the officer was gonna fall off of it a couple times. Looked like a 4 year old riding a bike without training wheels for the first time. haha
Whats really sad it the other 80% of Texas looks nothing like that, heck you get on the west side of Texas its all tall trees and pine cones, go south to the coast and its beaches and Palm Trees and Mexicans, wait a minute thats the whole state never mind. LOL
Haha, It's a tourism marketing scam. Tall trees and pine cones is Texan slang for cacti and tumbleweeds. I learned how to say "arroyo" after the Jeep Wagoneer bottomed out enough times to crush the brake line where it runs over the frame...
Maureen and Ron, were any of those mountain shots of the Organ Mountains? My wife lived in Las Cruces and she lived up in the Organs, just curious...and yes it's sad that I've been here 3 years and haven't driven down to Cruces yet!!!
Ummm, Go back to school and learn Geography again Rick. lol El Paso is more Mexican AND NEW MEXICO... sheesh.
