LOL - you guys sure are pushy!!!! I hope to go back out Saturday. I have a place to store my trailer right across the street from O'Reilly Raceway Park. Literally drive on 300 feet of public road at most. So just go hitch up, drive across the street, unload and tech, go racing. I hope to get better pretty quick.
sorry, i have not run my car in a couple of years (due to health reasons) but have been doing it all my life. but really want to get back into it.
Probably all out 1/4 miles on test & tune nights, but then just 1/8th mile bracket racing in the no-box class. Although I do have a Bionda delay box and a throttle stop to run any of the super classes. I don't really care if the car will run 8.60 or only 8.80, but I want to get it going quick enough to run 8.90 regardless of weather conditions.
alright, a man after my own heart (no box) when i started i wanted to go run super comp but i could not stop myself, i just wanted to go quicker and quicker. is this your first time in a car like this?
Yup - first passes ever in a "real" racecar. Before tonight my ONLY passes are in my SRT-8, with the best passes from 10.89 - 11.10. Top speed of 127. So tonight's runs were WELL into a new learning curve. I'm glad I at least have a bunch of sub 11.50 times under my belt. But now I'll work in the 9.25 - 9.75 range for a while before trying to get into the 8.75 range.
I don't believe a single word!! We are going to need video to back up the timeslip!!! :worthy::worthy:
I can see you grinning here in AZ Matt. That will get the adrenaline pumping. Your doing it right. Become a master of the 1/8th mile, the rest is easy.
Got some new bits coming for this Thursday's test and tune. Car is currently set to shift at 5900. So I got the 6100, 6300, 6500, 6700, 6900 rpm module set. I'll experiment to see what happens as I allow the shift point to go up. I think I've got my head in the burnout better now. I've got the shifter itself sorted, and will be testing the transbrake. Might launch off the trans this week (but might not). I'd at least like to hold my foot in it for all 1320' this week. We'll see.
