Hey Folks! I just got a text then a phone call from Derek Poundstone, an SRT-10 owner who also happens to be AMERICA'S STRONGEST MAN! He's going to be on the CBS Early Show tomorrow AM. I'm not sure exactly what time or what he's going to be doing (I'll guess that it's not needlepoint); the text message got cut off and the phone call ended quickly with the need for a charge. TIVO it, and dump it to YouTube if you can. He's a very cool SRT owner. You'll like him. I'll do that, Maureen. Derek told me he's been up to his eyeballs in work, competitions, and life in general. He's trying to get to the forums everyday, but time seems to be precious these days. I'll get him a link here next time we talk. (Just what The C needs- ANOTHER cop....LOL)
Heh, those lifts with the red "log"? He was taking advantage of the bounce off the ground... I could have done that. (haha :stars I think I've watched every single World's Strongest Man episode. Just unbelievable. The one thing I can't figure out is with the stones. First it's astounding they can lift those things in that awkward position but how in the hell do they push it forward to get it on the platform?

Not only that but you keep coming up with those stupid How-to's... I ended up trimming every friggin hose clamp on my car today. I figured I'd just do the one big one on the intake that had a lot of extra, then I figured I'd do a couple more and it went downhill after that.
Yup, Derek is a wonderful person. I think Maureen has set the DVR to record as we will be driving down to El Paso in the early early am.

The 2nd phone book rip went much better. All Derek needed was a few hotties cheering him on. :grin: The bus pull was nuts. IT WAS FULL OF PEOPLE! Plus, 3 other Strongman competitors (that's...another....almost 1000 lbs.). Derek pulled it about 6', then the bus got stuck on something in the oh-so-smooth streets of NYC. Maybe next time they'll do it on a decent surface....that's flat. Nice work, Derek!
I've seen him on TV and an interview on that Airline Reality show (SouthWest Airlines) he seemed like a really cool and humble man, mucho congrats to him.

The scary part of it is this: we went kart racing last weekend, and when Rick threw on the helmet... the first thing that came to mind was "The Stig"... the resemblence: uncanny! LMAO!!!
